I have an older flashlight that uses a Cree led. Very bright also. It uses 3 AAA batteries. I'm not a fan of flash lights that have built in batteries that charge using a cable or using non mainstream standard sized batteries. A flashlight is something you want to able to swap out instantly and with easily available batteries. Especially if you use it for outdoor activities.
