Lumix S5 + Sigma 24mm 1.8 EX DG Low Light Test [FromAbove] [4K]

Filmed with Lumix S5 + Sigma 24mm 1.8 EX DG (Canon EF, mounted using Sigma MC-21 converter)
F/1.8 | ISO 200 - 1250 | SHUTTER SPEED 1/50 | 25 FPS | CINE-D2
Location: Gdańsk Wrzeszcz & Sopot
Filmed using manual focus (autofocus doesn't work too good with Sigma MC-21 & Sigma 24mm 1.8 EX DG). Edited and color graded in Davinci Resolve 18, no denoise applied.
Considering the price of Sigma 24mm 1.8 EX DG (found one used below USD 100), it's a great, wide lens to use with L-mount system (via MC-21) if you accept to focus manually. Autofocus works, but is not consistent and huts a lot. Aperture control works fine, EXIF data is being transferred to camera.
Planning to use this lens for astrophotography in the future :)

I've used the 50mm f/1.8 lens on my Canon cameras. It's amazing to be able to get down that low. The results I get from my full frame camera isn't nearly as good as this Lumix. Great test to watch!

A bright F/1.8 lens. The 24mm angle of view is the same as the drone I use. There is a drawback that AF is difficult to use, but the inexpensive bright lens is attractive (* ^^ *)

Really nice images! Do you think that is a suitable option as a wide angle stop gapper for my small video lenses kit? I would use it for no more than 20-30% of the footage, mixing it with a couple of modern manual lenses with a Sony FF camera. Maybe not at 1.8, but if it sharpens up nicely at 2.4-2.8 and don't have extreme flaring-ghosting issues it could be an option to consider... Is mechanically good for manual focus? My other options are vintage lenses that could be mechanically better but I'm afraid that sharpness and contrast might not be a great match with more modern glass... Thanks!

Thanks for your comment. This lens is quite cheap and is worth getting in my opinion. It has manual focus clutch which gives you "real" manual focus :) Focusing from closest point to infinity is around 45 degree angle.

Fajnie sie prezentuje to szkiełko, masz jeszcze coś z tego? jak bokeh sie prezentuje jestem ciekaw, myśle by to nabyć do s5ki bo cena fajna też :)

Kupiłem ten obiektyw głównie do timelapsów nocnego nieba i kilka już udało mi się wykonać. Jak będę miał więcej, to wrzucę na YT :) Biorąc pod uwagę cenę (udało mi się trafić za ok 300PLN), to świetne szkło. Pamiętaj tylko, że autofocus z adapterem Sigma do L-Mount nie jest wspierany dla tego obiektywu (niby działa, ale strasznie słabo - długo szuka i celność też taka sobie). Osobiście mi to nie przeszkadza, bo timelapsy i tak robię na manualu. PS. Kontrola przesłony działa bez problemu, dane EXIF także są zapisywane.
