Nice to see how Butuan has developed from my high school days in the 70’s to the present. I could hardly recognize the streets anymore. The last time I visited the city was in 2010. I enjoyed your video.

The coco speedbumps are new since last time we came out. Agnes and I stayed at Oasis Hotel for a few nights in 2018 on a trip here. The food service was slow back than too, so still the same. Have you been to Almont Inland Hotel across the street? We've stayed there twice over the years and really like it. Always enjoyed the food and the pool is not right in front of the rooms which always kind of bothers me when it is. Hope we can cet a chance to hang out before you guys go. We've moved to Nasipit recently, but still make trips into the city. Message me if you can meet up maybe this weekend!😁👍🏻

The Oasis is nice. We stayed a few night there as well. We visited Almont once when our daughter's friend came in from Australia. It is a nice resort also! Really interesting landscaping!

I'm moving there next year. How was the airport, what kind of ducks in a row, did you have to quarantine when you arrived and if so for how long?
@lumpialife3 жыл бұрын
Airport is small and easy to navigate. No jetways, just stairs. Say "no thank you" to the porters, unless you have a heavy load. If you're moving semipermanent, I would say have your banking in order, and what I did was port my USA cell phone number to Google voice and never had any issues with text verifications through the credit cards and banks. We arrived pre-covid, so no quarantine. While we were there the lockdowns and quarantine passes were a pain. Have a great adventure!!🤙🇺🇲🇵🇭 (I can't wait to get back to the PH!)

Those speed bumps are bamboo, not coconut. My wife is from Butuan City and we will be spending some time there. Is it possible to just use an ATM for monthly expenses?
@lumpialife3 жыл бұрын
Trust me... They were coconut. I never used an ATM. I always sent money from my bank account in the USA and picked up at MLhuillier. We would just send once a month and budget our way through depending on what was happening (travel, building, etc.).
@jeffsharpton14213 жыл бұрын
@@lumpialife Gotcha! Thought I saw some large bamboo cut in half! Ha! Anyway enjoy your time in the PNW! I’ll look you up when we all get back to Butuan!

Hi. Have you been to Metro Manila? . Maybe in your part of the Philippines they test the lightbulbs but not everywhere. Maybe Butuan City is laidback but not in some cities in Metro Manila. Do not generalize.
