@Tubungful,LunBawang are named for the Kerayan Family Language tribes who live in Sarawak, while the Lundayeh live in Kalimantan Timur and Sabah. All of them understand each other in daily communication.Just different by region.

@BorneoUnited yes. the best answer. its a bit misleading when people say lundayeh originate from sabah. to be more precise, they came from kalimantan to sabah. while lunbawang originally home base in northern sarawak-brunei-southern sabah region.

@TeochewHokkienFuchow ,They are Lun Bawang, because they are in Sarawak,If they are in Sabah or Kal-tim,they are called Lundayeh.Language are tangible to both Lundayeh and Lun Bawang.

I may not a "Lun" myself and don't have to be one or learn to be one, apparently we had been to the Labit-Krayan country past 3 generation as nomad traders and since we don't speak much Murutic or look like Whiter "Lun", ,people like you are not aware that we help you to shape back some of your/their lost identity by our barter/sell beads n gongs to your folks in northern region, after heavily wipe out by radical evangelicalism who almost destroy half of the Labit-Lun's pure identity such as dragon motives beaded work or clothes, old antique evil pagan beads for "infidel" ritual and pagan antique gongs for "Eraw" ceremony, simply destroyed, but replaced by weird sound from bamboo trumpet n bamboo flute. Thanks to the missionary effort, now you are halal playing the bless instrument to worship Jesus and abandon Hard Core Drinker....Hallleluiya..... and recently, the "Labid" adopt back their string lute from the Kenyah Sampek music, while from just plain black clothes or tree bark jackets, the creativity of the "Lun" pair of hands, manage to shine their "Lun" black costume identity with colourful beads.....oh,I forgot, some other Krayan ppl but different nationality helps to teach the ur local "Lun" with bead making process out from clay soil too...not bad, economic of the "Lun" near longtuma bloom with tourist purchase their clay beads.

We had been travel to Arabic Writing Country and meet the "Lun"Bawang overthere in Temburong and interestingly an old Muslimise Tutong told me that this coastal Dusunic group adopted "Tutong" Murutic warrior name as their tribe name as Tutong helped them from the attacked by the Headhunters Kaya'an. Some of our heavy items like large gong, were left behind in the Lawas airport, because the small plane can't afford to fly with heavy weight towards Bareo n Bakelalan.....after bartertrade in sour appleland of Bakelalans,we hiked back to Krayan, through longmidang/bawan and moved towards the country of "Lun"Pagon, your muslim sibling of so called "Melayu" Tidung...and also meet your other "Lun" related cousins of ALumbis,Tagal,Berusu, trade items and we brought the beads, gongs by boat in Sembakung entering Pensiangan with majority Tahol/Tagal people who love antique beads, While almost all items sold but gain less profits but friendship, we managed to reach another sibling of yours, the LunDayeh and LunLod...happens to live near LongPasia n lowland. and from LongPasia,we crossed mountains n reached another "OrangUlu" Tagal country,I forgot the name of the village(maybe longtelinga) but from there,I know we gonna reach a small town called Trusan.,and exhausted reaching Lawas Airport...why bother walk back to our own "Banua"...we are rich after trading n we spend money buy airtickets to Miri n stop at Sibu, take a bus n walk back through mountain border, and restart seeking unique items that you serawakian wanted us to find, the old large tewak n gongs, antique beads n accessories, for your expensive dowry gifts of your tribe wedding. Profit n money earn are not important to us ,but...Hospitality n Friendship we earn towards Krayan people what we cherish the most.Or perhaps the newly era where Tin made Gongs sound better than the haunted sound of antique original brass gong.
