It feels so strange to have a character who is strong enough to effortlessly defeat anything in her path yet is as vulnerable as a small lost child at the same time.

Luna was taken away from her only family member Lucia for the government's experimentation in Cyborg Construct, and not only was the experiment failed leaving her corrupted, she gained the power to control the virus, but has no one to guide her through the pain and suffering. Her desire to create a haven atop of disregarding humanity, as well as her power, made her the queen of the corrupted for a long while. However, by this very arc, "Fake Ascension", the creatures born from the Virus gained biological traits and no longer depends on machine, or a queen, so they, controlled by one of Luna's own assistant, turned on her. What's left of Luna throughout her story is a selfish desire built upon a flawed, pessimistic ideology, made more powerful by her naivety of the world due to lack of proper guidance from her background.

I'm still impressed that they are going all the way with dubbing pretty much every song that was previously sung in Chinese into Japanese as well. That's some dedication right there and pleases the silly little weeb inside of me. I also find it clever that they elected to name this song "Luna" in the English localization, instead of "Moon", which would be the direct translation of this song's original title "月".

@@ohreally69 I usually listen to JP dubs but for this song I was used to the CN vocals and imo, they sound a bit more trained (?) than Rie's here. Not to diminish her work, but they could've had another person singing instead, like, the voice actor for the in-game character and the singer are different for the CN version. This happens a lot in a lot of media where the VA isn't vocally trained. The current example rn would be the Kongming anime right now where the female MC's seiyuu and the person singing her songs are different. That said, I do prefer Rie's voice in-game but only because I'm used to hearing her voice everywhere else too haha, and can actually understand bits of Japanese compared to Chinese.

This song somehow hits a perfect spot for me that I never expected to be there in the first place. Like, most of the time when it comes to games and anime music, I like a lot of it, but there are only a few songs I genuinely love. One being DMC 5 Bury the Light and another the song Knight Crab from the game Fight Crab for example (very different reasons obviously). This song in particular is also one of them, I think it's because I enjoy songs that are really smooth and sweet and based on what I know of the story so far, this does hit really, really well.

This has a really beautiful melody and a superb mixing as expected of Vanguard Sound. I do appreciate and commend the fact that they put on the effort to work around the english grammar errors in this song by adjusting the flow of the lyrics, however I am not so fond of taking such big creative liberties with the translation choices. Yes, the spirit of the message remains but often the nuisance of the specific phrasing and vocabulary is important to read an aditional layer of depth in the lyrics, and sometimes an aditional alternative interpretation. This is specially true for Japanese Lyrics where it is common to play around the expected absence of pronouns in a way that allows for multiple interpretations of which actor is taking to another or even to themselves as a reflection. Either way, thank you for all the hard work. Please keep it up
