Love those little affirmations. I always say to people that I have to love you to sew for you. I'm going to do this as I only will know. Love that idea

Hi Cara, it’s the little things we can do to personalise our makes that add the joy and make the ‘work’ worthwhile. I’m so pleased you like this idea and that you’ll make it your own. Thank you for watching and happy stitching 🥰

Thank you Clare for this video. I had to have words with my Luna, as she was intent on doing her high kicks and twists before she was ready. Oh dear I had to unpick her left leg twice. She is being behaving a little more demurely now, legs nicely together, sitting patiently until tomorrow. I am excited about the next stage, her pretty little head. I couldn’t have done this without you Clare. You are so lovely. Thank you again. Oh and I almost forgot, the red heart and love that you put into Luna’s body, ohhh that made my heart melt. I put a little red felt heart in too, so beautiful ❤️

Hi Sabi, you are working hard on your Luna’s! I had to smile as your description is so very accurate of how these characters take on their own personalities 💕 I’m so pleased you chose to add a little heart too - I love this little touch. I’m looking forward to seeing your completed Luna 🥰 Happy stitching 💕

Clair, I have only just found you on you tube and so glad I have. I would consider myself a fairly decent crafter/ sewer but I have enjoyed your tips that you so kindly share them with everyone. I've actually made several Luna Lapin's but never thought of making them with cotton fabric. I

Hi Susan, welcome to my channel. Luna looks great in fabric and it’s a really hard wearing option. Quilting cotton works a treat as does a stiffer and tightly woven linen but in sure you’ll find your favourite! Thank you for watching and happy stitching! 🥰

Really enjoying these Luna sew alongs…yes, I am still on my first one 😂. This one has a D shaped bottom but as she will be sitting on it I am sure it will not be too much of a problem. Thank you for taking the time to do these

Thank you for all these Luna videos Clare. I made the fox last year by hand but have just bought a machine. I’ve watched them all and made Luna along with you, would have been lost without your videos especially as not only a beginner making Luna for the first time but also a beginner on a machine! Thank you

Hi Liz, I'm so pleased you've found the videos helpful. I had hoped that they would be useful for beginners and improvers alike, so I'm really pleased to read your kind words. I'm also making videos for clothes for Luna and her friends (in the same style as the videos you've watched) so please subscribe to my channel, if you haven't already, to see when I've uploaded a new one. I hope you are thrilled with your machine sewn Luna and next will be making a whole wardrobe. Thank you for taking the time to let me know your feedback. Have a great day! 🥰

@@ClaireEngland1 I have really enjoyed watching this series because I am making my first Luna for a great niece who is due to be born in June and only my fourth stuffed toy. I am handstitching but all of your tips are still extremely relevant and whilst the instructions in the book are good, learning through watching and listening to you explain things has made all the difference.

@trishkempson8901 - You’re not the first to say that they enjoy visual learning. I think it’s much easier to absorb when you see someone else demonstrating in real time. My videos are longer than most but I try to pack in as much as I can. Congratulations on becoming a Great Aunt! What a blessing 🥰

Do you know what book the dungarees are in please love your tutorials
@ClaireEngland12 жыл бұрын
Hi Anne, if you look on the cover of the book 'Sewing Luna Lapin's Friends' (the second book in the series) the badger on the front cover is wearing overalls. The painter's overalls are an option on the Coolcrafting website (the designer's own shop) for Flora the bunny who is bigger than Luna: www.coolcrafting.co.uk/product/floras-artists-overalls/ so you might need to reduce the pattern. Or mash together the tie shoulder dress in the same book mentioned above for the top half and the pattern for Alfie's jeans (possibly) from book one for Luna only. I've not done that myself but it feels like it should be do-able. I'm so pleased you like the tutorials and I hope its helped it on your journey. I'll be adding more in the coming months so please subscribe to my channel and I'll do my best to help and inspire you to continue in your journey. Have a great day! 🥰

Could I ask what stuffing you use please.
@ClaireEngland13 ай бұрын
Hi Jen, thank you for watching and for your question. It is possible to get specific stuffing for toys that is CE certified as safe. Unfortunately in Spain I’ve not found any and so instead I use a polyester filling that is used for cushions. I buy it from a local shop that sells fabric and foam for making curtains and cushions. It’s sold by weight. Does that help at all? It’s very lightweight and 10euros buys me a bin liner full. Happy stitching 🥰

Where does the tummy piece go?
@ClaireEngland14 ай бұрын
Hi, the body is made up of three pieces in total. Two are on the sides (leave a small gap to put in the stuffing) and there is one tummy piece that is sewn in between the two side pieces and stitched all the way down. When you’ve made the cylindrical body the circle base can then be sewn on (don’t forget to add your legs). I hope that helps? Happy stitching 🥰
