A south westerly filled in and built to a decent breeze giving the crews something to practice with. Great summer sailing conditions.

The fact it's a racing sail boat almost makes this voodoo..lol I will say this, I fear for the crew aboard if God forbid a defective part or any other random act takes place during one of those turns. The aircraft comment is accurate. These are air/water foil craft. They are fast, fragile, uncomfortable and very expensive. They have little to do with seamanship beyond flat water bays. At this date in technology we have known of foils for more than a half century. These "Cup" or "Class" competitions would do well to capture both methods of propelling water hulls. We cannot, should not forsake the real skills of sailing as what is required to manage a displacement hull through crushing water and wind. Foil racing is not sailing. Let's just call it "Foiling" and place it into a separate class.
