Lots of techniques I haven't seen in this build Cliff. Learning experience for sure.

@ModelAV8RChannel It's funny really Adam, nothing's really new, every technique is an adaptation of another technique but with a (sometimes) modern twist. If it wasn't for the abundance of information we have today I wouldn't know how to do anything except what I learn from experience. The best part is being able to adapt and reapply techniques and, at the same time, share my experience with whoever wants to watch. Wow, where did all that come from? Happy Christmas 🤔😁

Merry Christmas to all! It’s good to see old techniques being re-discovered and shown to new modellers. I first discovered the vaseline trick in the 1970’s from the “tips and tricks” articles in the model magazines of the day. Seeing this has made me realize that channels such as yours has taken the place of the magazines of days gone by. Maybe I should re-read the old publications to see what gems I’ve forgotten over the years.

I wonder 💭 who could have come up with such a brilliant idea of using Vaseline to stop hinges sticking. Who ever it is must be a very good looking and cleaver chap indeed! Well who knew 😂🤔😇

That's interesting, I wonder if it changes in different countries 🤔

All the full size gliders that I’ve flown in North America and Germany had red tow releases.
@lotophagi711Күн бұрын
@@oldcontrollinepilot7155 OK I'm surprised that it's different in different countries. Colours of the controls was something I inspected on gliders when doing their annuals (in the UK).
@oldcontrollinepilot7155Күн бұрын
Upon further reflection and research it appears that we are both correct. The North American Schweitzer gliders have red releases but the European Schleicher KA7 and Blanik L-13 gliders I flew do have yellow knobs or handles. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Hello Cliff Harvey! Is that a carbon rod for the wings? And I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Greetings from Lübeck Germany 🎅
@CliffHarveyRCPlanes2 күн бұрын
Hi Chef, no, the rod you see is steel and is the wing locator in the rear of the wing, Happy Christmas 🙂👍

MELTING Vaseline? Really? Actually, that’s brilliant. Oil, applied with a syringe would work, but would drip and wear away, but the Vaseline will cool and return to a paste, keeping it in place longer. I can think of other applications. Thanks for the inspiration. oh, and the rest of the model looks cool too.

Hi Angus, thanks, as I said not my idea but great fun making it all work 😁👍
