I love being recommended videos and articles with titles like "x86 needs to die", "ARM is the future", especially from people who have superficial knowledge on CPU architecture.

Ironic you brought up cpu architecture when it’s the worst part about lunar lake. The snapdragon has a better cpu, hopefully the X elite 2 is has a much better gpu to balance it out. That said, lunar lake is awesome. But it can’t really get more efficient without cutting out even more. Where as the snapdragon X elite doesn’t even have any efficiency cores, so there’s still a lot of room for efficiency and performance improvements

Great video man! I bought the Asus S14 Zenbook for the wife with the 258v and I 100% agree. The iGPU is a total game changer for Intel, it's wild to see a chip pulling 28w and able to play Battlefield 2042 at 1080p. That kind of performance was unthinkable from an iGPU just recently, and the craziest thing is how smoothly it plays and looks. iGPUs of past years were stuttery and lots of texture pop, etc.

@slimjimjimslim59232 ай бұрын
apparently yes. Some tested lunarlake found it to be avg 30fps, max 53fps at low setting, dx12, 1920x1080, 28w, resolution scaling 50%. Amd Ryzen 9 Hx370, newer driver crash game but older amd driver does play the game at 39fps avg. Amd still trying to fix driver. I mean 30-39fps isn't that great for either one lol. But both are better than Qualcomm Snapdragon8 gen3, runs around 13fps LOL

Lunar Lake also set a new hole-in-my-wallet standard. No way I am paying $1400 for a 32GB RAM machine (completely soldered RAM) when I could get 80% as much performance and power efficiency, all with upgradable RAM, for half as much money, if not less. I am going to wait until ThinkPads with 32GB RAM with Lunar Lake start popping up on the used market in 3 years. Or it would be better to just wait for Strix Point ThinkPads with up to 96GB upgradable RAM instead
@kartikpintu2 ай бұрын

@one_step_sideways2 ай бұрын
@@kartikpintu I don't use 96GB at the moment because they're expensive and it's not necessary at the moment, but upgrading the RAM past 32GB will be necessary later on, after around 3-5 years. I don't want my $1400 to only be usable for 5 years or something, I want it to be like a ThinkPad X220, a usable machine even after 13 years
