Blue velvet is the dye I have on right now and it's fading really green at the ends. It looked really nice and cool for the first 2-3 washes but now it's really turning green. It's a beautiful color and I liked it better than Arctic fox Blue Jean Baby. However, I wanted to let anyone know who's thinking about which blue to go with that it will fade to look like the diluted swatches. (It also stained everything! I didn't have that problem with BJB)

thats such a good point to make ... how they fade ! some colours have different bases

Was your hair previously bleached? I'm wondering if it would fade like that for my naturally level 8 - 9ish hair

Anna B it was on bleached hair. The blue Jean baby was on a fresh bleach, but by the time I did the Blue Velvet I had some root going on that I didn’t bleach out. My natural hair color is a 4 or 5, and I did dye over them when I did the Blue Velvet. The blue velvet did show up on my root but faded a lot quicker than on the bleached hair (probably after about 3 or 4 washes was when I didn’t really notice any color in my roots anymore while the color was still a pretty strong green-blue on the bleached areas). My guess is it would fade pretty evenly on unbleached hair but it’ll be gone pretty quickly. That’s just my guess based on how it worked in my hair though 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have yet to see a dye that doesn’t stain everything it touches, no matter what the brand. If it it didn’t stain everything it wouldn’t be much good as a dye. Using the stainless steel kitchen sink is the best way to wash out any hair dye.

Mine fades into a silvery pastel blue. Your base really matters because your hair needs to be as light as possible

dandruff shampoo, just use until you find necessary, dandruff shampoo on my hair for 5 minutes is one of the things removing black box dye from my hair lmao
