She is mature well beyond her year. Faith is a big part of her success. We’re all rooting for you, Mak.

Love Makayla, stumbled over her you tube chanel and fell in love with her and her smile. I also think she summed up the interview right at the beginning when she said she focuses on what she has not what she lost...... Awesome girl..

Beautiful young lady inside and out! Glad I stumbled upon her channel recently. And now I have more info about what happened with the accident and how she's progressing.

Melissa, this is one of the poorest attempts at an interview. You repeatedly pry at extremely sensitive topics and your attention is obviously focused on clicking through your premade slide show or cleaning up your lunch at 7:00 . You forget Makayla's humanity and instead try to squeeze every last drop of "inspiration" out of her. She is only months past her accident, she is still healing physically but especially mentally. I hope that you read this comment and reconsider your approach to interviews. Take care of yourself and your mental, Makayla.

I'd be emotionally exhausted after this interview. Especially during the beginning, I was uncomfortable for Makayla. The questions and the statements towards her- a lot felt insensitive. More than that though, it feels like a lot of pressure is being put on her. Yea, she's positive, smiling, working hard; she's a strong person. I think if everyone was seemingly always going on about how positive I was and my smile, I'd feel like it wasn't okay to let the other emotions out.

Yes, her story is remarkable, as she is, but we have to understand everybody is different and everybody deals with life, loss, grief, etc. differently. We should stop comparing these cases with other people who cannot deal with similar or other tough situations. What is it about people that always want to compare and say "look what happened to them and they are not crying..."; seriously?

She is extremely lucky post accident: go fund me to help cover medical bills, buy a vehicle to accomodate a wheelchair, family support, parents income higher than average, being a cute, blonde girl. There are MANY who have zero support from go fund me to cover expenses and get the publicity from TV / internet to help. No $60k cars for free. No comprehensive medical insurance. No family capable of being 24/7/365 care persons…that she will need for her whole life, sadly.
