Tune curiosity: is anyone concerned about adding HP in regards to wearing out internal engine parts prematurely?? Is everyone forging internals? I have a stock 2018 Premium GT 6 spd manual. I'm in California so I'm somewhat limited. I'm thinking of a basic tune with CAI. Daily Weekend type car. Not looking to race but maybe add 25-40 HP. Looking for feedback!
@5.0_marcus2 жыл бұрын
@@TheHardestArtist707 if you stay N/A don't worry about the internals and you boost it. Lund and many others say 800whp on E85 or race gas is a safe number that will last a long time. Obviously once you double the hp of a stock motor anything can happen but many people live at 7-800 on stock internals

First of all thank you for a truly fantastic video, I am a customer of yours and have sent you many customers. Some questions: - Is the A10 car mag ride? - Any suspension mods at all, or is the only suspension mod the sticky tyres? - Panel filter removal? So you ran no filter in the box at all? Surely that is dangerous?
@Lundracing7 жыл бұрын
Gibbo205 not a mag ride. Stock suspension and those wheels/tire only. And correct no panel filter. On the street we wouldn’t recommend it in case a rock or other debris flips up from other cars driving but at the track there is less risk.
@Gibbo2057 жыл бұрын
Makes sense, thank you. So a chance a mag ride car could be a tenth quick with its drag mode on the dampers and the fact I think mag ride cars are a touch lighter as well due to the DSSV dampers and other 350 suspension parts. Does the 2018 air box still have the carbon trap in the lid? If so did you also try removing that?
@Lundracing7 жыл бұрын
Gibbo205 I doubt the magnaride makes any difference in the quarter. And we didn’t remove the carbon section. It’s a very small part of the box and when you remove the air filter it really has not restriction at that point so removing the carbon trap isn’t going to really limit anything.

You know those numbers make no sense don't you. Bone stock with ET/R tires was 11.92 and with just adding a Lund tune you went to 11.61/11.56. How much hp gain is needed ffor a 0.3 second ET improvement? This in view of you guys saying Ford did a good job with tuning and didn't leave much on the table.
@michaelharris7485 жыл бұрын
Most of those 93 tune gains were due to the trans side of it. It doesnt pick up alot of power on 93 but with the auto the trans shifts much better and is mostly what gave them those gains along with a little additional power.

I heard these cars are pretty much maxed out from the factory and that a tune and mods wont yield the same hp gain as with the 2015-2017 is that true?
@Lundracing7 жыл бұрын
big yee 15-17 only gained about 15 peak but about 35 under the curve due to torque management limiting the throttle throughout the rpm range. Eliminating that is where the big under the curve gains come from on 15-17 Manuals. On 2018s there is none of that. OEM Ford allows the throttle to stay wide open. And peak gains are about 8-11 rwhp as discussed in the video. There really aren’t much more under the curve gains. Ford did this same technique on the GT350s.
@Jimmyxsx7 жыл бұрын
Lund Racing gotcha man thanks.

Let me tell you. This mustang craze was started in Long Island back in the late 80’s you could walk out with a stick lx for 14k and people around the NYC area had the money to drop 5,10,15 grand or more on mods. Mustang Magic is the shop that knows these cars better than anyone. Nobody was talking Lund 5 years ago. These coyote panty boys got all moist over E85 and Tunes. Good luck with your stick engine throwing all that boost and timing. You guys cry over breaking a trans made in China. Trying having to pay for a new engine out of warranty because you were wanting to be like these guys. They blow an engine they tell one of their mechanics they pay 25 dollars an hour to install the new engine. The rest of you will be taking a line of credit on your home equity.
