This October 25th we planned for a vacation in Lungchu. The place is remote yet indeed a pleasant peaceful one. But the staffs out there weren't appropriate. One of them tried to threaten me while being drunk as I asked them to stop burning crackers due to much noice. Being the only family boarding the homestay that night, couldn't take the risk so had to leave the homestay a day prior of the actual leaving date. We incurred a loss of 4000/- We stayed at Lungchu Nature Stay.

From Lava it is 15 km. Blogger is confused about the distance. From which part of kalingpong the distance is 15 km please mentioned. Kalingpong is a big district. Kolakham is also under kalingpong, lungchu is also under kalingpong. From kalingpong taxi stand to distance of lungchu is around 56 km. Check Google also

To the frequent travelers in North Bengal there are more beautiful place than lungchu. Seeing of kanchanjangha is depend upon luck.If your luck not support in this case you will be very bored in lungchu.

Your video is good. Especially that you have touched upon an yet almost undiscovered place. Loved it as you gave some very valuable advice on civic sense to prospective visitors. In this context, just want to add one point... I too am a Bengali, but very widely travelled... hence the tip. Bengali travellers have a very very bad habit of washing clothes, and putting them out to dry, right in front of their rooms... 😖, sometimes even out in the garden. Not even mentioning the rather... pardon the description.. disgusting ' gamchas '. Noticed some hanging out on the balcony, outside your rooms. It's an eyesore. It is not fair on other visitors, nor on the property, as it totally vitiates the ambience. Please desist from doing this. And kindly add this to your list of advice. Bengalis are not particularly liked, abroad, for this very reason ; in fact also in starred hotels, because they will do this everywhere...
