I knew there was always something wrong with this world ever since i was a little kid back in first grade, LUPE HAS opened my eyes fully today n im so happy for it cause it made me look at things in a bigger picture n made me connect with my inner self ,thats why i know music is very powerful especially when you're young and have no one to look up 2 nd havn no one actually giving you no kind of direction from ppl to fam when ur young music helps a lot when you feel like you r alone in the world.

My class is reading the book, it's by Howard Zinn and he does U.S History from the underdog perspective more and less, and sheds more light on what really happened during America's early days. Zinn gives more context than the textbooks in schools and doesn't sugar coat what America had done. It's on Barnes and Noble's website just look up: A People's History of the United States: 1492-Present by Howard Zinn

I had a history course where we had Howard Zinn's "History is A Weapon" as out curriculum. Hell of a class and hell of a textbook.

I love the "lingo" exchange going on, here. Where the interviewer is using "urban vernacular", the interviewee has decided to better articulate himself. It's a different world.

For lupe to call out JP Morgan chase at this event when being cornered with a question about Chicago like that.... What other artist does that, in 2012...

lol it sounds pretty outlandish but i believe he does have a photographic memory...so who knows?? And i say this cuz some of the references he makes just boggle my mind like how the fk does he remember that? Just watch the "double burger with cheese" video. I mean I barely remember scenes from a movie I watched two days ago but he can vividly illustrate scenes from half a dozen different movies from the 90s.

Yeah, but wouldn't you agree that pop music never has a particular sound? I mean look at 80's Pop compared to today's Pop. It's whatever what's the cool sound is.

He’s using it as a filler for his thoughts. You should see the half black half Japanese basketball player Rui Hachimura. In Japanese he says “ano..” often and “y’know” often in English.
