But I can also identify the difference from intricate and complex lyricism and Pac didn't have it and Kendrick doesn't have it. It's just a fact. You don't have to get in your feelings about it.

I remember when Lupe tweeted that out talking about Kendrick and saying he’d probably be somewhere around the 50s in his top 100. I actually defended Lupe’s point, knowing Lupe and knowing the battle rappers he respects and reveres, I thought 50 from him was actually very generous. See Kendrick is my favorite rapper of all time, because I value storytelling and discography over hyper technical, punchlines, and wordplay focused bars (thought I do also value those things which is why Lupe is second favorite of all time) but I understand how Lu looks at the shit. Moral of the story, the fan bases need to chill out, EVERY big rapper has a section of the fan base that is balls to the wall on attack mode if anyone says anything remotely “negative” towards their favorite. Lupe makes alot of sense. I was actually confused a couple of years ago talking hip hop with some friends where they thought of K-dot and J-cole as the best lyricist ever. When I bring up lupe into the conversation it was like nah Lupe too nice (as if that was a wack thing to be). Long story short, I realized that to be acceptable as a lyrical artist you have to be basic. I consider kendrick and cole to be entry level lyrcist. With the strongest Fan base of people who don't want to be considered dumb but they will stand their ground on their favorite rapper.
