@@yootoob2 I have RA. A lot of the symptoms are similar took over a decade to get a dx. The meds I take are killer for my teeth. I can't get my dentist to understand I've lost 10 or more teeth in the last 2 years. By the time I was 35 I had low bone density. I had an awesome GP but he retired 😔 Now I have to break a new one in. Auto immune diseases suck!

I agree with everything you said about Dr Jefferson, he just seems like the kindest soul and the best kind of Doctor. There’s a special place in heaven for doctors like Dr. Jefferson who advocate for those whose conditions are ignored, misunderstood, or met with lack of compassion. But more than in heaven, we need to make a special place in earthbound modern medical practice, particularly the profit-driven Western-variety that is basically more structured around the needs of the physician rather. than the patient

You know what I love about you? You treat every patient as if their problem is the most normal thing in the world, like it's all fine, you see it every day. This means so much to people. I've got lupus sle and some the effects on the body are really embarrassing. It's a hidden illness in the way that it's not obvious to people so people make assumptions. But you take it all in your stride and you are gentle and considerate, gracious and professional. I think you are amazing.

I just breathed a huge sigh of relief. I was diagnosed with lupus at 16, almost a decade ago. And I've been living with it ever since, modifying my diet, taking my meds, praying it will go into remission etc. All the things we do to try and make ourselves better. But in the last year I started noticing my feet getting really dry, calloused, and getting feel painful cracks when they peeled. I had thought fleetingly it might be related but had no proof and so I changed my soap, and my socks (went with natural cotten) changed my shoes... nothing helped. I'm glad to know this is something that I'm not alone struggling with. I'll have to get some shade butter and try some of the other things I've read in this thread. Thank you all for sharing.

My mom had lupus. Hers affected her left side as well. Her feet were dry at times, but not this extreme. She was diagnosed at 17 years. She passed at 38

I probably learned more about lupus from watching this video and reading all the comments than i had known before. Thanks to Dr. J and to all the great followers who shared their experience with the condition. You sent more people now a little more knowledgeable about SLE loose into the world and that can’t be bad.

I love you doc, you make such a difference to people's lives. I have lupus, though don't have the same problem with my skin (though I do suffer from dry skin all over). Your gentleness, thoroughness and explanations are a delight in every way. Thank you for all that you do and for the excellent service. You make people's lives bearable, please never under estimate the effect you have on people. Thank you for your care and effort. You are appreciated. Xx

I hope your lupus stays as stable as possible. I have Lupus also, was dx at 16, but 46 now. Due to the liberal use of steroids (prednisone) when I was younger I now not only deal with lupus but severe long term side effects from the steroids. I wish you well my sister in Lupus. We loopies need to keep each other strong. BTW, I was born in DC at Sibley. We lived just out of the district in MD when I was a child. I live in FL now, but still consider your area my home. Your feet look amazing! 💜👍
