Really enjoyed watching you getting into some good topwater action it is very exciting when you have a schoolof bass pinning bait in front of you. I would recommend getting either a austrie 90 or the fishus espetit 90 size when the bait is like what you were encountering, the bass seem to commit better to a smaller less splashy lure than the patchinko. I have found on many occasions a small slider like the austrie is more like what the bass are chasing and get more commitment from the fish.Bass can be very tunnelled visioned at times and will only hit what they feeding on or strike lures of similar profile to the bait.

Thanks for your insightful comment 👍🏻 your not the first to mention the austrie the patch I was using was the 100 but as pointed out to me I may have been over doing it in the excitement 😂 I’ll ask Santa for an 90 if I’m ever lucky enough to experience that again I’ll chuck it and sea 👍🏻🎣

Amazing session, it's rare to see blowups like that on the surface so close to shore, thanks for sharing! Also I have to ask because I noticed you were on your own this time.. Have you ever been out of your depth wearing waders? I heard you mention swimming but I would do everything to avoid that scenario if I was you. I was fishing a river in the south of France some years ago wearing chest waders trying to get a big fish out of a snag and stepped off a shelf into a deep channel by accident, my waders instantly filled with water and swimming in the strong current was very difficult, luckily in my case the waders I was using were neoprene which gave them a little buoyancy, but it was not a nice feeling trying to get out of the current and through weed beds, I'm not sure I would've been able to reach the bank so easily had my mate not been there to help. Just a heads up, Tight lines!

Yeah I’m normally on my own tbf , I tend to fish in the week as I’m retired. I’ve been out of my depth many times but I don’t do it in strong currents. The surf smock has sealed cuffs and waistband works well also if you stay relatively upright I don’t get water in. I don’t recommended it for anyone but I’m comfortable with it in this type of scenario. This one below 👇 I wasn’t so comfortable but stayed dry and fished on after a bit of a sit down.

@@chuckitandsea Thanks for replying, that's a great short ! 🤣 You and Kev really have been through some trials and tribulations on your fishing adventures. I'm glad to hear you are aware of the dangers and prepared for them. And yes I should've been better equipped myself, that experience definitely taught me a lesson. I'm looking to get a better life jacket soon if you have any good recommendations, the one I have was cheap and gets too restrictive for repetitive casting with some of the gear I wear.

That was incredible seeing those fish jumping around. Are you using barbless hooks? I am retiring next year and plan to get back into fishing with bass fishing high on the list. Only ever caught one on the south coast and that was by chance when jigging off some rocks. Investing in a campervan so hope to do a bit of fishing on our travels. I live near London so easier to access south coast, however I seem to remember hearing you stay in a campervan near some of the places you go so any tips? I appreciate people usually keep their marks secret so no worries about specifics. Looked liked there was a fish moving behind you on the left when you walked back to the second rock😂 Cracking session and videos thanks. Andy

Yeah it was an amazing sight ! Not barbless but a single on the back with a semi squashed barb. Camper is perfect I have a Motorhome so when I go “out of area” I go on google maps and find campsites near to the coast path and then just walk and find a beach or a place to climb down. Don’t over think it just fish and enjoy it you will find fish. Glad your enjoying the content 👍🏻

Shame you didnt change your lure often to see what they are eating . Bait size metal and youd not be able to count your catches. All the big bass at the back chased all those small maccies in
@chuckitandseaКүн бұрын
They were eating the white bait there mouths were stuffed ! I probably would’ve caught more on the metals yeah but I don’t often get chance to use top waters so I just enjoyed it while they were there and it was good fun 👍🏻🎣🎣
