Lure fishing on Grand Union Canal caught a big Perch ! ! !

I fish The Great Ouse. There are Zander, but not in vast numbers. The ecosystem is just fine.

As a bailiff you should be upholding the laws not breaking them. Perhaps it’s different in whatever country you are from? Ma6be where laws are broken by those who have an official capacity?

first and foremost. Zander are an invasive species. should you have the fortune of catching one. It is illegal to put them back as stated by the canalrivertrust on their website. smack it against the side of the canal wall to kill it and throw it in the bush for the local wild life to eat or kill it and take it home for the pot or freeze to use as deadbait for pike come winter. The meat on them should be no different to CoD or Sea Bass - fillet it and make some fish and chips or steam it with some butter, salt & pepper and a few slices of lemon.

By returning the fish you are breaking the law because putting them back unsettles the ecosystem and doing damage to the native fish species that inhabit UK rivers. -- This only applies to *INVASIVE* species most fish are fine to return apart from invasive ones... Zander, Wells catfish and North American 'Red' Signal Crayfish. as for the recipe comment, have you not cooked anything in your life? everything requires a recipe and the recipe mentioned is the same recipe i use for most fish I cook not just Zander. I dont understand what is so surprising. You can eat your fish raw if you want lol but its safer and tastier if you grill them.

I know very well but I decide not to kill it as for you to know when they do electro fishing they killing everything else than just the zander and they will never get rid of it anyway so my choice is to put it back even if that means to break the laws or the rules because they shouldn’t be allowed to do electro fishing as they destroy everything doing that
