Lusaka City Decongestion Project, Zambia

The Lusaka City Decongestion Project was necessary and critical because the Zambian capital city had transformed into one of Southern Africa’s busiest economic hubs. Being a land-locked country, it played a vital role in connecting and enhancing business across borders. The project involved construction of outer ring roads, flyovers, signalised junctions, widening of existing roads, and bi-directional dedicated bus lanes to enable faster commute within the city and ensuring lesser traffic inside city limits. The construction activities were carried out without hampering traffic movement, with minimal land acquisition, and with least construction-related disturbance to localities.
Today, the project has transformed daily commute and the concept of flyovers, which is new in Zambia, has captured the country’s imagination. Afcons completed the project six months ahead of schedule.

@@DzoxEighty9 we have seen the quality of chineese work in sri lanka which is facing civil war.See the hambantota port project in sri lanka,china only colonises the country.Afcons shared knowledge and skills with local workers,Afcons employs more than 80% local people in their project in Africa unlike china which employs mainly chineese nationals.

Congratulations this is a great project for the Is Zambia to help to relieve congestion within the city. One would hope that the the country of Zambia would continue To pursue these types of projects throughout the country. With the new trade agreement in place it's imperative there are Suitable highway systems to move goods throughout the country and beyond. In fact that most major manufacturers and distributors won't to be along corridors to where they can adequately move their goods in a timely manner Countries developed a lot faster with good roads and adequate rail systems Zambia can be a key role player in the Growth and the development Of Southern part of the continent I believe that the country holds the key to an industrial revolution on the continent Of Africa

The two filter fly over bridges on kafue Road and great East roads have easen junction congetion. It was better if they hard made even three overhead free ways one kafue Road, great East and great North to allow free exit of traffic going out of the city.
