I imagine they were enjoying Traditional Norwegian Activities such as getting drunk in the woods and tripping before recording this one.

I love the shrieks. One of the originators of the dsbm sound, unintentional or not. I hold this Ep next to bethlehem, godkiller and other names I can't remember. What would have been next if he hadent shredded his vocal cords on this.

I read the massive and awesome “black metal, evolution of the cult” book. In it, it was stated/speculated that this vocal style was due to his voice not yet maturing into its adult state. I believe they were VERY young for this, early teens/etc. Listening to it back, I can see that as being extremely possible. Since we all know how crying children sound, lol. Perfect for BM.

Ah yes,the less racist Lords of Chaos (hopefully with less of an emphasis on the redacted idea that Venom is Black Metal that always bothered me more than the relatively deluted attempts by Moyhan to create an overall political narrative beyond obvious mental illness,teen angst,and a strong defiance of authority). (I imagine that a lot of shit in Norwegian Culture borrows from The Viking Age it's fucking Norway,not perticularly insightful on Moyhans part either although his experimental music can be interesting.)
@WocklessGamingforAnimeMoms Жыл бұрын
What is cool about Lord's of Chaos is the historical photos and that it's just a gold mine of 90s traditional alternative comix and zine art. I find "Slayer Magazine" from the scene at the time itself more of a fun read as a whole though.
@blankwavemessiah Жыл бұрын
@@WocklessGamingforAnimeMoms yeh like slayer and many thrash/proto shit too. lots of great music but definitely not all BM. it does specify that though. the book is very well written and self aware about the genres, proto/post, etc

@blankwavemessiah it's not a terrible book but far from an accurate vision of the bigger picture. Not nearly enough time or emphasis on Bathory I think.
