It is "Caprice de Chacone" and "autre Chacone" from La Guitarre Royalle (1671, p.72/73 and 75) by Francisque Corbett. Please note : fire brigrades siren is an improvised counterpoint.

And then answering the phone before at least going outside? What the hell. Absolute shame on such rude people, amongst such wonderful music. Hope you are well LuteDuo people! I'm frequently listening to you whilst wood working, currently making a Guitar and having your music keep me stress free :) All the best!

I think it's amazing how parts of Caprice de Chacone sound so similar to the type of folk rock coming back into music right now with acts such as Mumford and Sons and other similar bands. I know they are poles apart in age and mindset but it's a testament to this piece that hundreds of years on it still sounds fresh, lively and just brilliant!

John Cage argued this exact point in his writings; it was his belief that the siren added to the music as a new voice. As annoying as the siren may be, it’s at least an interesting concept. As a young man, I saw the great Andres Segovia in concert, and I swear no one in the audience even breathed for two hours. It was extraordinary! On the other hand, I personally find a cell phone unforgivable.

What kind of rude monster leaves the volume of his phone on during a lute concert?
@captebbtide4 жыл бұрын
As if the "coughing continuo" isn't bad enough at so many concerts! Emergency vehicles are a matter of happen chance - someone needs help, but now it's these damnable electronic devices (cell phones, pagers). I feel that the performers and directors need to be more punative - if a device goes off, the concert stops, period. Right then and there. If these jerk-offs with their annoyingly narcissistic senses of entitelment start feeling the resentful glares of the other concert goers for an abruptly canceled concert, they might get the hint!

(Speaking of the first piece - the de Visée is quite fine as well!) This is really quite beautiful (and not least the performer - amazing!). I don't know the composer, but I'm thinking it might be Corbetta. There is a wonderful, touching, nostalgic quality to this music. (Too bad ab't the "Martinshorn" @ 3:17- but the show went on. "Musica incit Omnia"!)
