I like that they are willing to try new styles. The st221 with Damascus blade and a lanyard is only 39$

I've got a couple of the other sitivien damascus knives, the st 227 and 237. They are slick little pieces for what you're paying, they definitely look and feel like high quality knives. I also have a couple of their cheaper damascus knives with the wood scales, they're decent but the fit and finish could be a bit more polished, but not many complaints past that.

So I was looking at some other American made knives and happened to find Dawson Knives which I cant find much on outside of their own website reviews which are basically across the board 5 out of 5 to 4-5 reviews. Your video on the Halfbreed blades convinced me to get the Medium Infantry spearpoint knife and I absolutely LOVE it. I was wondering if you'd heard of them or had experience with them?

Are you still sure that this is true Damascus steel? I noticed on other Sitivian knives that have a spine on top of the blade, you can not see the etching where the different types of metals meet like you would usually see on genuine Damascus blades... Please educate me...

I also see on other mainstream brands where you can’t see the layers on the top of the spine. The layers are revealed by using acid so maybe they do some final finishing on the spine that removes the result of the acid. That’s all I can figure. You might consider checking with some custom makers about this issue or DM Sitivien through their instagram account. Or contacting Larrin Thomas at knife steel nerds.

Hi guys, just speculating here, but I believe it is true Damascus with a vg10 core, that's why we can't see the layering on the spine. To my preference it's a very good steel configuration
