This is one of my favorite pieces if not the most favorite. When I listen to it, each part and verse of this piece feels like a stage of life to me as follows: 0:00 till 0:25 sounds like birth. (as in the operation as your mom is giving birth to you) 0:25 till 1:20 sounds like when you've just been born, your parents are in great joy and they start taking care of you as a baby. 1:20 till 2:25 you're growing up. Life feels slow and you wish you'd grow up fast. 2:25 till 2:41 Your first great success. You might see this today as the peak of your life even though it might have not felt like that much when you were living these moments. 2:41 till 2:53 You're slowly declining from the peak and success you've reached. 2:53 till 3:06 You're shocked at howmuch you've fell behind after you've been at the peak. You're shocked finding out how harsh life really is unlike how sweet you've imagined it to be and so the grief and the deep sad violin music at this part. 3:06 till 3:21 You're trying to get out of this hole you've fell in. You're trying to find your passion or a road to success. 3:21 till 4:00 You've found it whether it is a passion, a job or family, etc and since then life felt so fast hence why the music started playing much faster at this part. 4:00 till 5:00 There are things that can halt this fast flow of life at this point. You feel like a good portion of your life was stolen, time ran by and you didn't feel it. You feel you've aged young and you're shocked by that fast flow of life. You feel you might have done alot of things but you wish you had time to do more. 5:00 till 6:16 You call back all the memories. Life starts flashing before your eyes. You see all your suffering, your success, your achievements, the good moments and the sad and most importantly all the effort you've given in a life that always demands more effort (hence the elevating music at that part). You feel that world sucked all the life and strength out of you but was it worth it? That's for you to decide at that point I guess. 6:16 till the end is death hence why the music slows down into no more sound. (eyes closing slowly for the final sleep) I truly appreciate this masterpiece. It inspires alot of feelings and to me, includes alot of wisdom and knowledge within no words but pure feelings.

Just watched the movie. I have to say Aronofsky is a great, really great, and very gifted director. You can see how every character descends to their own hell.
