I just picked up a Luxman L 507 class A/B to run my Maggie 1.7 The power is very underrated and the build quality is everything I’ve heard it was. The sound is exactly what I was looking for also. My McIntosh could not handle the 1.7 like the Luxman can. Love this amp.

I bought a Luxman L595a-SE at AXPONA from local Chicago dealer Precision Audio. Anyone who wants a new unit should call Precision Audio immediately as I know he had several more units brand new in the box during AXPONA. He was s a great guy to work with and very knowledgeable. I hope to deal with him again in the future. I have other high quality Integrated Amps and I agree wholeheartedly with this review. The 590 was my dream Amp until the 595 came out with it’s vintage 80s design. What a beautiful high end piece with the highest quality engineering and fit and finish. FIVE STARS

@daniannaci32582 жыл бұрын
The only circuit difference I see between the outgoing L-590 AxII and the L-595a is not the volume control circuit (it’s the same) but the new feedback configuration in the power amp section of the L-595, now being implemented in all the new Luxman power amp releases. Improved error correction over the previous circuit says Luxman. However missing from the L-595 compared to the otherwise identical L-590 AxII is a tape monitor loop (you lose an input and a fixed level pre-out) ,the stunning meters, and most important, a price under 10 grand. That said, the L-595, and the L-590AxII are fantastic amplifiers, and all I could imagine I would ever need to power my Bowers and Wilkins 805 D3 pair (89dB).
@archifi99782 жыл бұрын
I may add a Reel to Reel, however, just for playback. Still, the monitor loop would still be handy.
@daniannaci32582 жыл бұрын
@@archifi9978 Not only do I use the fixed level record out to dub LPs onto a solid state recorder, but I also feed a 100mW FM stereo transmitter to broadcast audio from any source connected to my L-590 II to all my portable, table, and antique FM radios I collected throughout the house and yard. No compatibility issues and no time delays 👍. Not having a fixed audio out would be a dealbreaker for me. Especially at those price points.

Don't discount the 505 which is 20 watt class A. Depending on your speakers, 20 watts may be all you need. Plus, many of the Luxman's have more wattage than advertised.

I have a 590 and I jumped on it it is sublime since I also I hooked it up to the Luman DA-250 DAC. I am missing nothing. The Synergy in the system is insane. I use DH Labs Q10 speaker wire with locking banana's. Interconnects are DH Labs Air Matrix Cryo XLR's. Power is a DH Labs Red River power cable going into a pricy but worth it since I got it used half off Cardas Nautilus with a monster VOODoo Infinity Power Power cable into that. I have reached enlightenment! I am just ussing a bluesound node and a pair of Amhion argon 1 bookshelves too. Looks like a great amp. Congratulations, and good luck with it. One question, does the loudness feature vary as the volume changes?
@archifi99782 жыл бұрын
You know I’m not certain. I think it stays the same as you increase the volume. I tend to turn it off when going up on the volume. However, if the feature adapts to volume its pretty transparent.
@EskWIRED2 жыл бұрын
@@archifi9978 Most likely, it follows the Fletcher-Munson Equal Loudness Curve. If so, the exact EQ curve depends on volume, such that the most extreme compensation happens at the lowest volume levels. Don't leave it on all the time, because when you listen to music at normal volume, it will screw with the quiet passages of all your music.

I own the Japanese version of the 595a, which has a different exterior. I had the opportunity to listen most of the Luxman amplifiers. All shares the same Luxman signature, a natural and balanced sound. If engineering is a art of compromise, I think Luxman mastered it. The best value for the money, in my opinion is the the 505ux.

@archifi99782 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Luxman decided due to environmental/energy usage regulations. I believe, don't quote me, that in many countries there will be or will be "power usage average standards" for a product line. Much like a car manufactures average MPG for the entire fleet they offer for sale.

Wonder how that compares to the new 507z, been living with McIntosh sound for 7 years and it’s time for a change. Heard a 590axII last week and was impressed. My opinions are to be patient and wait for 509ax to show up on the used market or just bite the bullet and buy a new 507z. Really want a class A but many are raving about the 507z 🤔
@archifi9978 Жыл бұрын
I'm guessing the sound signature will be quite close. My experience with Class A vs A/B (with my speakers) is an ever so slightly more rounded (floabt) sound. However, one is not going to walk in a room at a normal volume and tell which is which.

Hi, First time to your channel, like the other postings too. I to own the 595SE, and it’s a great amplifier, I use the Luxman reference EQ500 phono stage which is fantastic. Like yourself I have tried various integrated amps, such, Audia Flight, Modwright, on demo units, but actually owned the Mark Levinson 585.5 it was great amplifier and I traded in my then Luxman 509x, which was a beautiful amplifier. But come back to Luxman and the 595, it’s a forever amplifier. My quick question, when you use the remote control does the volume knob stop at 7am position from 0db and then you have to press again , a delay and I think it’s a safety feature didn’t notice on the 509x. Look forward to watching more YT content Nandu

Hi, I just tried and my volume knob does not stop. One thing to check is your remote batteries. When the batteries start getting low, the signal can become more "intermittent" . Not noticeable when just pushing a button that requires a quick pulse. Worth a try
