Video and photos in HD I have made during my trip to Luxor in Egypt in 2010. The video includes the following highlights: Ancient Egypt, Karnak Temple Complex, obelisk, Luxor Temple by night, city of Luxor, bazaars, souk, the Nile, Temple of Hatshepsut, desert, geoglyphs, Colossus of Memnon, Valley of the Kings, inside the Tomb of Thutmes III.
As always thank you for watching and for your great comments!

SwissTravelChannel is a KZbin channel of my holiday’s trips videos, taken all around the world since 2008. Some are for pure tourism and others are more of an adventure. The videos usually show the top best tourist attractions, the top things to do and top places to see. The goal is to inspire others on their next vacations. The videos can also be seen as a guide to have an idea of the main highlights and places to explore. I love to take pictures of the nature, traditions and different cultures, to search the must-see spots and show the essentials in my videos, for this reason I always try to create the perfect vacation. Traveling is more than a hobby for me, is a way of life.

LUXOR (source Wikipedia):
Luxor is a city in Upper (southern) Egypt and the capital of Luxor Governorate. The population numbers 506,588 (2012 estimate), with an area of approximately 417 square kilometres (161 sq mi).As the site of the Ancient Egyptian city of Thebes, Luxor has frequently been characterized as the "world's greatest open-air museum", as the ruins of the temple complexes at Karnak and Luxor stand within the modern city. Immediately opposite, across the River Nile, lie the monuments, temples and tombs of the West Bank Necropolis, which includes the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens. Thousands of tourists from all around the world arrive annually to visit these monuments, contributing greatly to the economy of the modern city.
LUXOR TEMPLE (source Wikipedia):
Luxor Temple is a large Ancient Egyptian temple complex located on the east bank of the Nile River in the city today known as Luxor (ancient Thebes) and was constructed from 1100 BC-1600 BC . In the Egyptian language it is known as ipet resyt, "the southern sanctuary". In Luxor there are several great temples on the east and west banks. Four of the major mortuary temples visited by early travelers and tourists include the Temple of Seti I at Gurnah, the Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahri, the Temple of Ramesses II (a.k.a. Ramesseum), and the Temple of Ramesses III at Medinet Habu; and the two primary cults temples on the east bank are known as the Karnak and Luxor.
THE VALLEY OF KINGS (source Wikipedia):
The Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Gates of the Kings, is a valley in Egypt where, for a period of nearly 500 years from the 16th to 11th century BC, rock cut tombs were excavated for the Pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom (the Eighteenth to the Twentieth Dynasties of Ancient Egypt).
The valley stands on the west bank of the Nile, opposite Thebes (modern Luxor), within the heart of the Theban Necropolis. The wadi consists of two valleys, East Valley (where the majority of the royal tombs are situated) and West Valley.
With the 2005 discovery of a new chamber and the 2008 discovery of two further tomb entrances, the valley is known to contain 63 tombs and chambers (ranging in size from KV54, a simple pit, to KV5, a complex tomb with over 120 chambers). It was the principal burial place of the major royal figures of the Egyptian New Kingdom, as well as a number of privileged nobles. The royal tombs are decorated with scenes from Egyptian mythology and give clues as to the beliefs and funerary rituals of the period. Almost all of the tombs seem to have been opened and robbed in antiquity, but they still give an idea of the opulence and power of the Pharaohs.
This area has been a focus of archaeological and egyptological exploration since the end of the eighteenth century, and its tombs and burials continue to stimulate research and interest. In modern times the valley has become famous for the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun (with its rumours of the Curse of the Pharaohs), and is one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world. In 1979, it became a World Heritage Site, along with the rest of the Theban Necropolis. Exploration, excavation and conservation continues in the valley, and a new tourist centre has recently been opened.

I have not words to describe the beauty of Luxor and great ancient history of Egypt! This video is excellent, fabulous and amazing 😁😲!!! I AM FROM GREECE 🇬🇷, THE BIRTHPLACE OF DEMOCRACY AND OLYMPIC GAMES. My country has a lot of history and many ancient monuments too. This is the reason that I LOVE ♥️ EGYPT so much. Egyptian and Greek civilization are inspirations for many great things! Congratulations!!! Respect the Egyptian culture from GREECE!

The stripping columns should tell us that cement was plentiful in ancient times and therefore we may deduce from this to mean all the other stone structures were made of cement such as bricks big and small, statues, columns, obelisks, etc.

You took photos in Thutmose III's tomb? How did you manage that, it's prohibited! I saw tomb personnel get really angry when they found out people were trying to take photos.
