Not ENTIRELY true. Look at the palace hotels in india, taken over by the Taj Group and Oberoi Hotels. A couple of them still have the present maharaja still residing in the palace, who may occasionally come and mingle with the hotel guests. The ORIGINAL grandeur and opulence STILL remains.
