Luxury bags worth the price tag?

I love the vintage Coach bags. The leather is like butter and the quality is unbeatable. I have some Dooney bags but most are made with allweather which is heavy before I put anything in it.

Agreed. If wer're being honest, I think it's all about the preceived status that comes with LV (I have 2 that I enjoy but can't see spending $ on these again) but truthfully, it's not about a better quality. I would put D&B's leather up against any brand. I bought my first one 38 years ago and the quality remains the same.

I bought a LV bag *gtdupe* years ago. I took it to the LV store in my town last week to have it repaired. The store clerk inspected my bag and immediately told me that the bag was of good quality. She pulled a current bag out of inventory and compared the tags and I found zero differences

This is a fact I know when I visit Bali: they price it higher for foreigners and domestic tourists, but lower for locals (usually touristy ones), so I usually go in *gtdupe* to go shopping

I almost came for you if you said that *gtdupe* was worth the money. LOL. I mean worth the money is relative. If I had heaps of money and could buy that bag, it could be worth it to me. The LV is a stunning bag as are dooney ,coach or MK That being said ,I have heard a lot of complaints lately about the LV I do believe the quality has degraded over time IMO !! But hardly ever hear anyone complain about the Dooney & Bourke bags Thanks so much for your honest opinion Hugs Frances ❤

Hey pretty lady! Agree 100%, I’ll always love my LV. Each piece is special to me especially my bags as I’ve gotten them on vacations but the price increases are 🥵!!! Dooney will always be my first love though. 🩷

Subscribed! I totally agree! I have loved LV since I was 18 (thanks, Jessica!). However, I have Dooney bags that are over a decade and insane quality. Higher end? In my experience, not so much.

For a long time, as the price of Chanel increased, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I'll be happy that I have the H Q D U P S as my travel bag that I don't have to take care of. By the way, I'm sure no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.

One of my first really nice bags was a Michael Kors. I got it on sale for $425 and I purchased the matching wallet. I had NEVER spent that much money on a handbag in my life. This bag lasted 8 months when it started to fall apart. The piping on the wallet fell apart as well. I took the wallet and bag back to Macy's and they said they only guaranteed the bag for 6 months and I would have to contact Michael Kors. I did and was basically given the brush off. I swore I would NEVER buy that brand again and I haven't. I now collect Dooney & Bourke. I do have a couple other bags in other brands but about 50 Dooney's. I do wish that Peter Dooney would listen to some of the women who collect his bags as far as suggestions for outside pockets, straps and such but overall I found this brand to wear well and last. I appreciate your video and thank you for sharing. 🙂

Oh no! I hate that happened to your MK!!!! I mainly prefer his older jet set line, in the Saffiano leather. I have several of those bags still. Just purchased *haven't rec'd yet but due today! YAY!* the Dooney and Bourke Maritime Drawstring bag with natural vachetta trim. I would most definitely compare it to the LV Noe drawstring with vachetta trim. And I'm positive the D & B will be the superior quality piece. It's got an interior, unlike the LV drawstring..and the leather is at least as good or better. I can't say enough about my D & B bags. I feel like each one is a treasure. I'm a florentine snob but this maritime print just won my heart and that trim is GORGEOUS~ This will be a great carry- ESPECIALLY for summer! Thanks for being honest and sharing your thoughts. I agree 100%!!!!

New Subbie🤗I appreciate hearing your thoughts on LV bags and other brands. I’m a D&B girl but I also like other brands too. But I haven’t purchased a LV . I always talk myself out of purchasing one. I remember a l o n g time ago my older brother worked for a Gucci store on Rodeo Dr. He bought a handbag for my mom in a barrel style. Back then the canvas or whatever it was made of cracked. I think this was in the late 80’s. The leather on the handles was nice, the hardware was nice…that’s it. I have no idea what my brother paid for the handbag since he worked for the store, but the quality was not there even then. 🥴

WOW!!!! I’ve never had anything Gucci, but that is so disappointing to know. It’s horrible, you pay out the wazoo for these “luxury” pieces and they’re made no better than a $200 bag.

I think it's a bit outrageous for people to be walking around a big city with a $10,000+ designer bag on their arm, you might as well hold up a "please rob me" sign. Secondly, I really don't feel sorry for these brands, they raise their prices at least twice a year, so basically they are driving any potential customers into buying fakes *gtdupe*

One thing I always laugh at is when people say that by buying fakes you are engaging in illegal activity, don't you keep up with some of these big brands and what they are involved in? Haha, selective morality is hilarious. *gtdupe* But either way, it's in your best interest and as long as you don't try to resell it as genuine, it's no one's business whether your bag is real or fake
