I was truly blown away by the beauty in Matera, well honestly all of Basilicata, Italy. This trip has made me really want to backpack and camp my way through this region some day. On my drive I saw several campgrounds, and haven't looked into Italy's camping laws. But I think an incredible camping trip could be done through southern Italy.

It is absolutely incredible. Couldn't imagine the alleys packed with people in the summer. But in spring it was fantastic. Stay for at least a few nights to really see it.
