I worked at Pountneys from 1965-1974 We even done hair on a double deckered bus travelling from Heathrow to Piccadilly Circus that was on Pathetic News too.

Bonjour ou bonsoir,c'est selon... Aujourd'hui, c'est la "course" au rendement,le plus de clients(es) possible et cela devient plus en plus "impersonnel" de se rendre chez le coiffeur,la coiffeuse. C'était une autre époque,qui ne reviendra plus jamais hélas...

You definitely couldn't sleep very comfortably. I do remember hearing older women talk about how they had to sleep. They wouldn't comb it till the next visit to the salon.
