Your jewelry is gorgeous, quit over analyzing the era, or if it looks less modern. Fine jewelry never goes out of style! Don’t save your ruby rings for special occasions, everyday is special, wear it all the time. Thank you for sharing your pieces, they all all so beautiful! You mention a lot, “ I don’t wear this often, because I don’t have anywhere to wear it, or because people my age would wear something like this” wear your jewelry for yourself, not for anyone else, your missing the point, jewelry is meant to make you happy, not anyone else! Second, people your age don’t wear that because they don’t have it! You have it, and chose to put it in a box, to only have worn it once. Girl, enjoy life, don’t have the mindset that everything has to be worn a certain way, or for a massive event. 😉

From the US here, I actually have a deep respect for fine jewelry collections that manage to avoid big names. If you really love Cartier and Van Cleef, then it's worthwhile, sure, and it's your money. There is, however, something to be said for shopping local jewelers, and vintage luxury. You usually get much more for your money to begin with, it's not as though most people get the high jewelry from Chanel, or Cartier, or Dior, that stuff begins at a very different price bracket. Most people get an entry level piece of fine jewelry , or costume jewelry at those places. At a local jeweler, or on the vintage market, the same money can get you more metal, in the case of costume jewelry, you can get actual precious metals for the same price), better stones, etc. You're also less likely to be robbed, because no one can tell exactly how much you're wearing.

yup! so true :) i feel like this concept is lost on the US market because America is so "brand-name" oriented, much more than other countries. It's so crazy how much brand-names jack up the prices of precious stones and metals. at some point it just gets ridiculous 😂

Love the collection! Your jewelry might look more vintage, but they are all classic and can always be repurposed. I'm always on the lookout for a cool vintage piece and I LOVE reworking them, once you do it with a great goldsmith it gets addictive LOL.

Your jewelry is beautiful, your mom has amazing style for jewelry, such detail and timeless pieces. You have to stop saying younger and fashionable, it almost sounds like you think vintages and antique time era had no sense of a fashion. Most off the older pieces of jewelry and jeweler who designed were so much more fashion forward and great artist much more class and creativity. Many of today designer were influenced by them. Appreciate that and stop being so negative.
