Great video.. one of the rare videos that show the experience outside and not just inside room to room.

The videography is nearly as gorgeous as the home. Stunning. And it couldn't be any more Canadian given the Crown Royal was nearly empty.

Someone help me understand.. How does the boat house stay in the water during the winter and the floats not just get absolutely destroyed from the ice? Was surprised when I saw this house is in Canada.
@GP-ed1ti2 жыл бұрын
The boathouse is built on steel piles. In addition, in winter they will deploy a bubbler to keep the ice from forming around the boathouse. So the ice never comes into contact with the dock (ideally). In really bad seasons, ice damage it still possible but far less common.

PS: Look up Lake Joseph and you see this is actually a small second home/cottage for the area. Most places now sell for $5 to $20 Million on that lake, which is a 2-1/2 hour drive north of Toronto.

what a dirty shame, Muskoka used to be so beautiful, endless meadows of wildflowers and whispering pines now replaced by big boxes with parking lots and golf courses
@zephyrstarsand43738 жыл бұрын
mdo686 have you been to the huckleberry trail? that used to be Grampa's back yard, there was no highway and it was heaven...no ugly golf only trilliums...us kids could walk the old road to the creek without ever seeing a car...they came because it was so country beautiful and killed it
@zephyrstarsand43738 жыл бұрын
wonderful to hear more quietening in the new generations...the canoe on the lake in early morning when the only sound is the birds is a piece of heaven worth the experience ..we would entertain ourselves all day as kids trying to make the best loon cries...i'm so very happy to hear you appreciate the natural special beauty of the area..happy cottaging :)

Too bad the world does not revolve around what we want/prefer.
@Uppercut4436 жыл бұрын
We see, and interpret what we see, according to our mindset. Chill man. There is beauty all around up there. If you set 'golf course' as a trigger for yourself you will only end up getting a bad vibe from your own body every time you see a golf course up there. Enjoy Muskoka, it's gorgeous and we are so blessed / lucky / whatever word you prefer / to have it to enjoy.
