Have a titanium hip joint which doesn’t have a luxury logo but it does have a serial number. Always thought serial number would help identify my body if I was found dead in a ditch but now thinking if titanium becomes a trend it would be good for authentication purpose if I wanted to sell it on the preloved market. So glad you’ve managed to eliminate the red truck.

You know...at first I GASPED at the newsprint saddle bag reissue but now that I've sat with that information for a bit, I'm kind of "meh" about it? I can't really explain why. Could be completely wrong (in which case ignore me haha) but I actually think it's the fact that new Gucci is trying to be more quiet luxury that's causing the drop of sales in China. Along with the weird price thing you mentioned (just pick a lane guys), I think there's a large group of the younger Chinese money crowd that LOVES a bold print/logo/OTT moment that Gucci used to provide along with brands like LV. Since the creative change, they've lost that customer and unfortunately for them, the older money quiet luxury customer is already loyal elsewhere... Anyway just a thought, but happy Sunday night! 😊

China has also been cracking down on overt/“loud” luxury and moving towards “quiet” luxury as a whole. So Gucci’s bombastic, flamboyant style (even though they are changing it) is out of style

Tiffany Collab with LVMH...and the jewellery cost a bomb, certainly not for me too. I understand those silver jewellery does tarnish, and it is already not cheap for that range. Nostalgia note: Jane Birkin whom the bag was named after, put bag charms and did the boho thing on her bag. There is no chest tattoo for this trend that says "do not resuscitate" . It is out and it is alive. I personally despise the Hermés rodeo charms, they are juvenile-looking and rudimentary in terms of execution. They're like something that fell off a CWA market stall at the Easter show. Also they can overwhelm the bag, if the bag is bigger it's ok but on smaller is just ridiculous. But I do use pompom charms for my keys....and I do like a heart charm....so what am I saying? I think there is a market for hand made well executed charms. So shoot me for my contradictions. Dayle is ahead of me on death row.

I agree with you on everything. The over the top charm trend looks very "bag lady" (not PC, I know) to me. And I just can't with all the Pharrell collabs. He's NOT a good designer, he's not a designer period. It's like LVMH decided they needed a POC to fill Virgil Abloh's shoes and compete with Kanye. The difference being that, mental health issues aside, Kanye is actually creative and innovative; Pharrell, not so much.
