I loved hearing Yvette speak! Her philosophy and appreciation of pens was inspiring, relatable, and compelling. I rarely comment on videos but feel a duty to share just how much of a pleasure it was listening to her, I will watch every video she appears in from beginning to end! I sincerely hope she visits again 🙂

The online fountain pen community needs more of these collector interviews. These are people who usually don’t find themselves in front of a camera, but really should. Thank you

I’ve been watching the Collectors Talks but this is by far my favorite. Yvette has a beautiful collection but also puts so much thought into that triangle to make every pen perfect. I loved and wrote down her feeling that ideas are hidden in her pens and she has to write with them for the ideas to emerge. Wonderful talk.

I love that she didn't forget a simple GvFC. There is nothing more classic than the original castle cap. She has a beautiful collection. Very well curated and thought out.

This was such a wonderful interview. Yvette has the most beautiful relationship with her pens and was able to articulate this magic. I loved the “triangle” which is absolutely how I feel about my own writing experience but I have not heard it described like that before. I also loved how she talked about pens as a “grounding” tool to bring you back to the present moment. Our relationship with our pens can be so much deeper than first appearances. I was smiling throughout the entire conversation! Thank you so much!! 😀😀❤️❤️

I agree with Frau Korber on some points, hitting the meta elements in my FP journey. The five elements are pen, ink, paper, ideas, and the mind. The last two get overlooked and are the hardest to pin down, and they serve as the value of the pursuit of the fountain pen hobby. It's not about investments, not about fads. It's the inspiration, emotions and ideas that result from the pen, ink, and paper combinations in our pages. Thanks to Yvette & Samuel that have unlocked this Eureka moment for me.

I've ney heard a better reason for using a fountain pen, then, "the idea is hidden within the pen" I often just pick up a pen and write stream of consciousness, it’s amazing what comes out if you just let the pen go. Thank you for your content.

Samuel, thanks for this. Please pass along also my thanks to Yvette Korber. She appears to be a very smart and impressive woman. I enjoyed hearing her perspective. I like that she has everything tuned for her - it's not even a question. (I get around this by tuning everything myself - it makes me happy with all my pens.) Her point that the creativity is in the pen waiting to come out was exquisite. Keep doing the Collector's series. Always great stuff to learn.

Samuel can you discuss filling fountain pens. I have found that pouring some ink into a shot glass and filling the pen from it makes no mess compared to filling directly from a partially filled bottle.
@SamuelNaldi
@SamuelNaldi Ай бұрын
That is very interesting but have the feeling it can potentially cause more mess than just filling it up from the ink bottle.
@ivanburt8431
@ivanburt8431 Ай бұрын
I find that as the amount of ink in the ink bottle gets used up it is harder to position the pen for drawing in new ink since it is hard to see where your pen is in relation to the ink. A small clear shot glass gives visibility and helps avoid dipping your pen too far into the ink. Pour a small amount of ink into a shot glass and try it. Once your pen is filled pour the remainder back rinse the shot glass and no mess.

I have to agree with Frau Körber on the issue of "feedback". To me as well it's just scratchiness, which I detest. IMHO the best combination is an ST Dupont with Diamine ink.
@SamuelNaldi
@SamuelNaldi 2 ай бұрын
I still don’t agree 🤣 - there are scratchy pens, and there are pens that give a feedback, and there are butter smooth pens (which i personally really really can’t use)
