ODELEITE
Is a Portuguese parish in the municipality of Castro Marim, in the district of Faro with an area of 142.24 km² and 576 inhabitants.
Odeleite belongs to the Portuguese region called Algarve.
One of the ex libris of this locality is the Odeleite Dam, which, in an aerial view, we can see that the dam has the shape of a blue dragon.
In Chinese culture this is a symbol of power, strength and good luck.
In Odeleite, in addition to being able to enjoy the calm environment, very typical of this region, you can also see the Igreja Matriz (1534), Roman archaeological remains, as well as water and windmills.
Also during my visit to this beautiful town I found an open museum that you can visit, very interesting.
I suggest a visit to this beautiful location in the Algarve.

I am truly enjoying your videos. The village and small store remind me of villages Mexico. There are many little stores like this one in your video. I was born in the USA and I’ve traveled many place but never to Portugal. Among many other countries my ancestry composition/DNA says I’m part Portuguese so I’ve been searching for videos on Portugal to see what it is like. Most of the videos I have found are of foreigners buying properties and restoring them but, yours are of the local people, traditions, culture and land. Amazing to see it from your eyes. Thank you so much! Obrigada 🙏🏼♥️

Hello. I'm very happy that you watch my videos and that you like them. That little store is something that has long been lost in Portugal. I spent my childhood shopping in a store just like that in my small village. It was a huge surprise for me to find that store there, and still open. The lady at the store told me that she would have closed the store by now if it weren't for requests from the municipality for it to remain there for a while longer. I think not only for tourist purposes, but also to satisfy the needs of residents in Odeleite. I've never done one of these DNA tests, but I think it's fantastic that we know our ancestors. Now that you already know the Portuguese part of your DNA, it's time to come here and see the country by yourself, be with the locals. After know the DNA connection its time for the soul connection. And I think you will feel it. Maybe not in the touristic centers like Lisbon or Porto, but for sure in the most intimate destinations in Portugal. The channel is still new, and all I want is to get the message across about the population, traditions, culture and some of the forgotten towns and villages. Your feedback is important because it helps me see if I'm going in the right direction. Thank you very much José

Portugal has so much interesting locations of interest & to me the many small towns - villages are at the top of that list. Portugal a little country with courage's, brave & big hearted people which had many of its heroes come from these types of villages, I to was born in a small village on an island in the middle of the Atlantic many moons & sunsets ago, a country that did so much for human evolution & not just during the discovery ages but across the board.. Portugal the most underrated country in history in my opinion ... Thanks for taking the time for showing us what lies beyond Portugal's beautiful & historic cities , its gorgeous beaches, hundreds of castles & on & on & on, for a small country Portugal through out the years sure has packed a big punch & deserves more respect than it has gotten .. Great vid.. Obrigado :) ,, oh by the way I love your channel name , cheers :)

The tree you didn't know what the name is in English looks like a Carob tree. They grow in Israel too.

Hi there. Yes, it's true, it's "carob tree". In Portugal we call it "Alfarroba" and the area where they grow a lot is in the south of the country. Lately it has been a highly demanded product worldwide, due to the various uses of the carob pod. Thanks a lot for the help. Hug José
