@@susanhooton9249 Matt has extremely high standards. He will want to know about the sound loss. That's information posted under the pinned comment on purpose as one of the team is more likely to see it. Being irritated by the promo interruption is feedback. They are trying something new and need to know how it's working. This is very different from Matt and Jesse's personal KZbin channels which don't have a television quality production team behind them.

Apparently you did not notice all the paddocks in view as soon as they walked out of the guest cottage. They were not small paddocks. Each had plenty of room for a horse to gallop around and kick and buck to their hearts delight! It would also be easy to take down the center fence and turn 2 paddocks into one. It just amazes me how people can look at this setup and immediately find something negative. Good grief!

It's absolutely stunning! But after you deduct from the 7.5 acres how much land the house, pool, arena, round pen, barn and guest barn take up, I don't know how they can say whatever land is left over is enough for 14 horses let alone another 14 in the guest barn? I have 8 acres and 6 horses. After the house and barn/barn paddock area, I still don't think an acre a horse is enough.

I don't get the feeling that folks are particularly familiar with Wellington. It's a suburb of West Palm Beach, in Southern Florida. 3-4 hours south of Ocala for reference. There's a huge winter show season there for dressage and hunter/jumper (WEF). Plus polo and other sports too! But it's also a place where you are only going to spend winters with your horses, and it's a place where you are going to have the 200k upper level show horses whom you really don't want to turn out. There is very little space for turnout as a rule because the horses aren't treated like actual horses. (To be clear here I'm not saying I agree with this type of treatment. Just trying to give an overview of Wellington and what it is like for the average person.) These are the types of places where Bill Gates and Jessica Springsteen have their homes, and some of the neighborhoods even come with private air strips for your jets. It's not the same world the average person lives in. Rent on a stable sized studio apartment can easily run you 1500$/month during winter season, and a dry stall for boarding at least that much. Living in Wellington isn't the typical day to day average horse person life - this is upper class wealthy equestrian life. It's standard for people to drive their golf carts places, including the show venue, which they like to be able to just hack over to on bridle paths, instead of a car.

@@kristaprice1954 Yup it's in Southern Florida, USA. It's a wild world. My boss has a "farm" and goes down for the winters, and I got to go down for a week to pony sit a few years ago. She took me for a drive to sight see and it was like nothing I'd ever seen before in my life. It's very much not normal by any means.

@@janetcarbone4213 oh, some definitely are!! But I think if someone had $23,000,000, and were people like Matt and Jesse, they would want their horses outside as much as possible. Tho they both take extreme care of their horses, they also love to walk outside under the stars and bring them in for the night. A bit of a good roll on the grass is met with a laugh. I think if Matt and Jesse ever did buy at Wellington it would look a little different than other owners. They could use it as a teaching facility, but knowing Matt, they would love to have friends stay just so they could “experience” Wellington!

All that space dedicated to human-oriented luxury, and then there's like 3 tiny paddocks in the corner. 🥲 I want to see a property with the HORSES in mind (ie paddock paradise system). This kind of property just gives me the ick.

IMAGINE the traction a paddock paradise system would get if Matt showed it. I know it's not the human definition of luxury, but I think that would be incredible. It would also be a good marketing to win over the people who are a bit more skeptical, because of the uproar within the equestrian community to better the living and ethics for horse welfare. A paddock paradise, or a track system, or anything in that caliber. My own horse lives at a 24/7 hour turnout place (27 acres, 24 horses) and has become so different from the horse she was when she was stalled.

Wow just no words. I'd love a huge barn dominion and have glass in every room in the floor so I could see my babies at all times. Not all glass just enough so I could see each of them. Not in my bathroom obviously 🙄

Its all very beautiful for humans, and interestinv to see, but horses just need food, water, shelter, excercise, some freedom, friends, kindness and love. They dont care if the walls are plywood or boarded oak, or if there are chandeliers or farm lights, they care more about the things I listed than anything else. 7.5 acrs is not much, most of it is taken up with garden, arena, barns and lake. This place is amazing but it's mostly what humans think of as opulence and luxury, its not what horses prioritise. Its interesting to look tound such places. The owners must spend a fortune on upkeep and cleaning. Its a shame the world is do unbalanced that some can be so extravagant while millions starve 😢

I saw that someone said that horses don't permanently live there but stay there when attending competitions at the local venue. If so, at least they can have some turnout which I doubt they'd get in showground accommodation 🤷

When I see a beautiful place like that my "do-it-myself" practical mind asks at least this question. How much full time staff is required to keep it that way. I noticed he said "open checkbook" .. I don't know, does it matter as much if you can just sign a check and have things done instead of having to work to figure out how to get it done or even doing it yourself?

Beautiful Show barn! Matt your questions and commentary of the appointments are impressive. 💯 Hopefully the horses are regularly rotated in paddocks, out for some hacks as well as practice in arenas. The conveniences would really help keep everyone organized which lends to peaceful days amidst competitions. lysm❣

Please everyone understand that the horses don’t live here year round. They are kept here for shows and sports. Like horse racing or polo. For that fact those fields and the stables are perfect for the horses!

That isn't anywhere NEAR enough paddock space for 28 horses! The entire Wellington area is an exercise in cruelty IMO. Standards of horse care are slipping. Crowding horses into small areas like this is NOT okay.

These horses are literally only there for the circuit. At least on properties like this, they aren't living on the showgrounds all winter with NO access to turnout. These horses spend a majority of their time traveling to the top competitions in the country or world. Florida actually is one of the only times of year they are in the same spot for 3-4 months. You're clearly not familiar with the lifestyle of top hunter/jumper show horses. This is no different from many in Europe that also spend the majority of their competition careers traveling...

You're clearly not familiar with what a horse's needs are. It is not humane for horses to spend most of their time travelling either.

@@sun1one1 honey, these horses live very different lives but by no means should you be tossing around terms like inhumane… it’s honestly laughable and makes you look insane. Maybe it’s now how you want your horses to live, but these horses typically have phenomenal care. Get a grip.

For me, there is now too much suffering and injustice in this world to enjoy this level of luxury. Yes, it's an incredible place (if also sterile and somehow lifeless), but in the face of an ever-widening gap between rich and poor, you can no longer look at all this without a stale aftertaste. We need more social justice in this world. More empathy, no social exclusion, but more participation for all. It's not about envy, it's about the fact that there are people at the bottom and now also in the middle class who bust their asses every day and barely have enough. I am from Germany, my English is not perfect, I hope you can understand what I mean.
