Today I'm testing out a luxury hair volumizing tool made by GHD. There are similar hair tools on the market and I have tested a few of them on this chanel. I'm gonna test to see if this beauty tool brings something to the table that other similar hair tools do not being that it costs 3x-5x the price. GHD obviously brings quality and safety to the table but how well does it perform? and who is it good for? Let's me know your thoughts about this tool.

I had a round heated brush in the late 70s/early 80s that had button that you pushed that would release the barrel and make it roll, so you could roll the brush right out of your hair without any worries about tangling/having to cut the brush out of your hair! Why that feature never caught on with any other models or companies has clearly never had their hair caught up in a round brush before!!

@@elenatrofimova419 When I was in high school (1999, I’m old) I bought a curling brush from a thrift store that was from the 70s-80s and it had a button to retract the bristles. I have no idea why that feature never caught on with other brands.

To be honest I think this tool is best used as a straightening brush but since it’s rounded you can create flips” on the ends of the hair and add volume. Otherwise if you’re looking for a curl or wave I would just stick with the curling iron.

Thanks for the video! It's great to see different techniques. I recently purchased this tool and I think your observations are correct. My hair is a long bob, doesn't quite come to my shoulders and I really like it for curling my hair under at the ends. I've also used it for curls and it worked great, but it does take some finesse. I like how close I can get to my roots, that so far has been the big win for me! Thanks!

I had a babysitter get one of these caught in my hair when I was about 4(34 years ago). I had really long, thick hair and it was horrible. Back then my mom was not someone you wanted to make angry and she was livid. She refused to cut my hair so it was a lot of pulling, tugging and crying late into the night. Needless to say we never had to be babysat by that girl and her friend again. I agree with the person who said this is a steep price for something that really isn’t new.

I was always told that these are more for volumizing or brushing through the hair for a blowout type of look, but not for curling though you could run it through curly hair. Before my grandmothers hair fell out from chemotherapy and before she got really sick from the cancer and passed away she would get a perm each month or ever how often you're supposed to get them, she used one of these to style her hair.

It's obviously not the same. Milabu's hair isn't tangled or frizzy. It's a better product than what was available in the past. You don't have to spend that price to achieve the same look. There's so many options now, I'm sure you can find something similar in the $50 range. I have one from InStyler I bought from Ulta a couple years ago on sale and paid under $30.

@@cm_mb she did mention in video that her hair was frizzy and there were other products that produced a less frizzy curl. I'm sure they've improved it but a awful product to begin with improved, doesn't always make a great product in the end

Disappointing but honestly to be expected. I adore GHD and have for years but they’re best at straighteners (flat irons) and that’s it IMO. I’ve had two other different stylers and sold them both. I'd like to get a hot air brush. What do you recommend that is light, about 1 in, less than $60? I'd like to volume & some curl or wave. A family member has the revlon one & its SO big. I think I wouldn't like it for my shoulder length fine hair. Also ceramic vs nylon bristles, which one is better? I don't use straighteners or curling irons because I'm afraid of burning myself. Could that happen on low heat?
