Luxx is def someone I know would beat a whole season if production and the world wasn’t already worshipping Sasha Colby. That was my only issue with s15. The drama was there, the talented queens were there, but it was obvious from the Meet The Queens that Sasha was going to win. Her response form the audience really dictated it. Unless she would’ve been eliminated during filming, she was going to win that finale. I really think if Sasha wouldn’t have been on the season, Luxx would’ve won with Anetra or Mistress as the runner up.
@razrv3lc9 ай бұрын
@@devon53421seasons that have a queen that has a predetermined winner are so boring. It normally seems to be an issue with all stars seasons (5 and 8 are by far the worst offenders) but 15 definitely had that vibe too. The moment they announced Sasha Colby was casted for 15, literally everyone knew she was going to win. It’s like it kind of makes it feel like there’s not even a point in watching. It’s also why seasons with no clear front runner from the jump are so much more fun. AS6 was so good because of that imo.

Luxx is great. She’s super talented, articulate, polished, and creative. She didn’t have a schtick or jokes (like other queens) when being unapologetically bold, and that juxtaposition between assertiveness and aloofness seems to make a bold queen likeable; that seems to be what softens people’s perceptions. MIB would smile and giggle when being shady, PJ would tilt and lower her head and slow down her speech, Bob would crack jokes and keep conversations short. Comparatively, look at Phi Phi O’Hara who was polished, bold, and very serious. If Phi Phi had been more charming and indifferent in her delivery, people would probably have received her better like they did PJ.

The lack of acknowledgment that Luxx gets for her stellar performance on Drag Race, in the challenges, on the runway, in her lip syncs, and for her storyline is frankly due to the fact that some people don't want to see a black queer person be openly overconfident and love who they are without reservation. @@bmh4d0k3nI mean you have to be delusional if you wanna go on Drag Race. She made it as far because she took her delusion and made it a reality. @AliceBunny057 ай бұрын
People think theyre counter-culture and cool and accepting of those a bit rejected by conventional society until they meet someone who dosen't gel with whats called social niceties. someone who isnt exceedingly humble, who is self assured or just completely honest about their views and opinions, including those regarding themselves. It never even has to toe into arrogance territory for people to feel put off by this innate quality some have, and they'll attach all kinds of things to you if given the chance. Arrogant, rude, cold, mean, the list could go on forever and ever. Even when your behavior and way of being is quite mild such as myself, you'll still get people making snap judgements or even assumptions that arent based on anything remotely concrete.

Like give us exceptional looks, exceptional performances, and you must react perfectly and not feel your real feelings otherwise that'll follow you forever. Add onto that all the difficulties with the fandom's prejudice and opinions then it's an absolute nightmare. I'd absolutely love it to see Luxx on all stars and maybe it'd be a different experience for her but I don't blame her if she doesn't want to go through all that again!

i really love lux, i didnt expected her to win the show, but i did rejoice in every damn thing she did in it and expect to see her cleaning the competition on a all stars season soon

My favorite queen from S15. I was in the trenches fighting and defending her from the haters.

Luxx deserves the world. That attitude, charisma, emotional intelligence. It has to grow on me, but to be honest, by the time she was giving her 'who should go home' Ted talk, she convinced me to believe in her as much as she did. If Sasha Colby hadn't been on her season she would have won, for sure.

hearing luxx talk about the negative backlash is so heartbreaking! i’m not really active in the drag race fandom, more of a casual fan, so i had no idea what was going on on social media. she was genuinely one of my favourites from the start of season 15, so it’s hard to hear she was hurting like this

I should stop being surprised about what a good interviewer Maddy is but I have been consistently impressed at how interesting these interviews are.

Luxx was genuinely plucked when Maddy brought up the phone bill. She does do her homework but queens going on her show expect it.

This episode was SO good and I loved hearing Luxx’s real thoughts and feelings about what she went through and the fan reaction she received. Honestly when it was wrapping up and Maddy was giving her a parting gift, I was like “oh damn I guess it was just a short interview this time” and realised a whole hour had passed in a blink.

If it makes you feel better Luxx, as a fellow New Jerseyan (Newark/Montclair) I tell any and everyone that you’re from East Orange, like ad nauseam. You’re a Jersey legend in my book ❤

I hope this is a positive step on the healing journey for Luxx. I loved how open she was here (and kudos to Maddy's interview skills) about the hurt. That took real strength. Keep it up!! Don't let that pain stand in the way of fully realizing your potential in life and in your career. ❤

Honestly I love Luxx so so so much, I'm sort of a casual watcher of drag race but her personality and the way she carries herself has literally been an inspiration on how I want to be, and like she's even younger than me which to me was incredible to find out. Love this interview
