I'm playing from original sources (period tablatures) so there are thousand pieces. You can find lute tablature for free on the net. Look for Sarge Gerbode site, or Wayne Cripps lute page. ;-)

You can play it on a guitar by tuning the G string in F#, you'll have the same relative tuning, a minor third below. ;-)

Ce qui me frappe dans votre copie de Vihuela c'est qu'elle est équipée d'un cheviller à chevilles transversales du type Luth ou Viole de Gambe contrairement aux quatre exemplaires historiques de Vihuela qui nous sont parvenus (dont deux en France) avec des chevillers en forme de palettes pourvues de chevilles verticales fichées dans la palette à la manière des anciens chevillers de guitare flamenco !

frenchiecocorico1 Oui mais il y a aussi l'iconographie qui nous montre ce type de chevillers, sur des vihuelas et aussi des "viola da mano" italiennes. (la fameuse gravure de Raimondi, entre autres).

The Frederick Noad Renaissance guitar book has the player do that for Mudarra's Fantasia X but not for Guardame las Vacas. How many period pieces do you own?

It was also a kind of joke from my side, so many guitar players are hurrying in early music, but I think Vacas (except in bull races, poor ones...) are quite peaceful animals... ;-)
