The size difference makes me laugh! 1 2w Adam Boyd I've been carrying the large Luzon for most of the year. Awesome! It's my 2nd favorite defensive folder. (5.5" Talwar can't be beat!) Some days I carry both. I don't usually use pocket clips because I can get a better grip on it as I draw. The advantage of a big blade like that is it stays in position in my pocket. When I try to carry a little 4" blade it's hard to get a hold of. Only problem is sometimes it doesn't lock when I wave it out. Still haven't figured out what I'm doing wrong. Overall...I'd trust it to save lives. 1 2w Powernoodle The big Talwar is awesome, no doubt about it. I have them in both black and blue. 1 2w Load 2 replies Powernoodle The 4" and 6" Luzon cost less on Amazon, especially if you are a Prime member and get "free" shipping. $34.54 for the 4". 2w Aaron Gross Love the videos nutn! I bought the Frenzy in December of 2017 after your KRV. When I saw the Luzon large last May I bought it. Now I’m going to buy the Luzon medium 4 inch and plan to occasionally carry it. 2 2w The Nutnfancy Project That's funny Doug! I do tend to know you guys pretty well. These knives are so inexpensive it really makes sense to get them as a pair. Then you can swap them out as your needs dictate. It amazes me a cold steel got them built at this price. 2w Incubad I purchased the luzon 4" in October 2018 off amazon and had to return it. The deployment was horrendous and the liner lock was extremely stiff and made my fingers raw. There is also no real room on the thumb stud. The thing that made me return it was the fact that it opened up in my pocket. The tip does not have much protection at all from fabric snags and that's what did it in for me. I returned it and got an urban trapper and CS spike. 2w The Nutnfancy Project Can't go wrong with that Urban Trapper, totally sick EDC blades 2 2w Load 1 reply Austin Langon Interesting comparing the knife industry to the watch industry. Who buys what, who makes what, who copies who, etc. 2w The Nutnfancy Project Doing watch reviews has helped my knife reviews. So much similarity between the two. 3 2w David Englehart That thing's huge (that's what she said). Thanks for making me spend money on Turkey Day Nutn... 😵 lol 2w The Nutnfancy Project You are welcome 1 2w Load 1 reply Jerry Hall I purchased the 4” & 6” from BladeHQ. Both are excellent. No issues with deployment. The 6” is definitely intimidating. Thanks for the review. 2w The Nutnfancy Project Thanks Jerry and thanks for using my BHQ links, they help me get these loaner knives. It will also give me .03 cents! 2 2w michael szymborski Any chance of another Microtech collaboration? I’ve fallen in love with the SOCOM, and a TNP version would be sick! I’ve EDC’ed my SOCOM since 2/17 and for me it’s the perfect 1st and 2nd combo. 2w john milochis Thanks nutn my wife hates theses vids mate every time I watch one I buy more stuff all well just ordered mine thanks 😀 TNSheep That definitly screams of a cold steel knife, but sexier than normal. 2w mike I need 2w The Nutnfancy Project You are wise 3min Chris Baker The day after Thanksgiving is a fine time to say THANKS Nutnfancy for all the reviews over the years. My stable is full of Cold Steel, SOG, OKC, Benchmade, Zero Tolerance etc., all on your recommendation. I actually brought a recently purchased Cold Steel Outdoorsman Lite to cut the turkey at my parents place yesterday. Life is good :D 2w The Nutnfancy Project Thank you Chris for that kind comment. I seek to serve my TNPrs with high value, great gear for their systems. That it makes you happy makes me happy! 2min david rockwell Your insight is valid regarding many U.S. based knife companies resting upon brand, reputation and hype. The quality, material and design of small U.S. manufacturers like Bradford, Survive and Hogue knives are a bulwark against the Chinese onslaught. Cold Steel has always been an extremely high value knife company due to the vision espoused by Lynn Thompson. Heal well and keep up with the physical therapy. Thank you for the continued effort and dedication. 2w The Nutnfancy Project Thanks David, much appreciated 1min James Parker Thank you. Happy thanksgiving. I am having the same surgery in February. But dang you now I need a new knife. Lol. 2w Tygre Cold Steel just continues to be awesome. 2w The Nutnfancy Project Yeppers 1min Arthur Krieger Awesome review Nutn. Love the philosophy about releasing competitive products. On another note I've been particularly interested in bushcraft knives lately (got a Mora and a Benchmade -- still testing them both -- looking at the Condor product as well) so I'm VERY excited to hear about the Work Tuff Cutmaka. And just more PoU on bushcraft blades, obvious as it may be. 1w matt Awesome review. I have the 6 inch fun to fondle. dont try to over do it with your shoulder 1w Nathan P Hubsch I like that honey badger, I need one. 1w The Nutnfancy Project It rocks just now Todd Strelka I'm originally a Cold Steel guy. Turned on to the brand by Nutnfancy when he gave away CS knives at a get together several years ago. This knife reminds me of my XL Voyager. I love the clip point blade. 5d The Nutnfancy Project I love that Voyager, thanks Todd"

I have approximately 8 months of edc use at work with the 6". The steel is sub par and thin, and comes with a very rapidly dulled extreme razor edge. It is not ideal for chores. It is however very resistant to chipping or snapping, and extremely thin sharp and pointy. It is tailor made for maximum legal weapon potential in a place with oppressive laws. My opinion is that as is typical of Lynn Thompson's work, it is a highly refined and very affordable purpose built precision uncompromising weapon, nothing more or less. If you want a work knife in this size, thicker and better steel is what you want, not this. Want an optimal single edge folding fighter? Here it is.

I found that the scales are horribly made and it won't be quiet if you are getting ready because it makes super clunky plastic noises, and the lock mechanism is also terrible, the scales should had been done in G10 rubber, at least, and the locking mechanism smoother... this is a 10 dollar dollar knife all day... when I purchased a pair at Wish from Fury knives for 19 bucks each that are more solid that should tell you all you need to know..

A full-size Cold Steel Rajah (6” blade) - rapidly deployed in an underground parking garage - prevented my truck from getting jacked by two meth heads. They literally freaked and split, very quickly. When you can’t legally carry a firearm, a big folding knife can and will save your ass in those rare situations when you’re cornered and your life and/or property is at stake. Cold Steel understands this reality. Sheer size is intimidating as hell, and 9 times out of 10 will defuze a bad situation fast. If it absolutely needs to be employed defensively, a large knife will give you great reach, and cause a longer/deeper wound channel. The coolness factor of bigger knives is just an added bonus.

BIG QUESTION Cold Steel Luzon Large vs Kershaw Strata XL ? Today, the large Luzon is $39. and the Strata XL is $70. I am very concerned about the CRAPPY liner lock on the Luzon - it is so thin to prevent a much thicker heavier steel blade from closing. How much more for the Triad lock on the CS?? I would pay more for a better mechanism.

@@glenngoins3100 I definitely agree, Lynn is the man. Who knows, maybe they have been trying. I absolutely believe that if anybody could innovate a new, super tough design that it would be them.

Been carrying the xl luzon for a year now. Love it to death. Cold steel's 8cr13 is nothing to sneeze at. Their heat treat makes it act like aus8.

At 8:15... went from mindlessly watching a Nutn Vid to laughing uncontrollably for awhile 😂. Had to rewind twice to make sure I heard what I thought I heard. Ahhhh Flatulence 😂😂😂. BTW... sounded like a wardrobe change may have been needed 😂

I've had the 4" luzon for about a year. My only complaint is the thumb stud. I wish they would have just left it as a flipper and not put it on. I DID stipple my luzon and it was well worth the 20m it took.

Happy. I love cold steel. Great quality for the money, and u can't beat their lock up devices. Lynn is a good dude, and cold steel as a company is the shit. Love the vids nutn. U the man.

Nutn, thanks for the great review. After going to a local “hardware” store that only had Micrtech and Benchmade tools for multi hundreds of dollars I’m glad Coldsteel is still making great products that are affordable for the working man. In Florida I need a good tactical fighter that will be a force multiplier on the street and not in my wallet.

Got the 6 inch model, and used a Dremel Tungsten Carbide Cutter bit (#9901) to notch the flipper to grab my pocket for the wave deployment. Also replaced the clip with a metal one, I found the original clip was too tight on my jeans. Great knife, I love it!

I am a huge fan of the medium. I’ve carried it for several months on and off and used it as a non tactical knife for LE duty. Cold Steel knocked it out of the park again.

Being left handed sucks. You rights get all the knives made for you, chainsaws, scissors, any tool ever made is most specific for a righty

Emerson has some dedicated left-handed models. I love his Super Commander knife. It's one of the best tactical knives to this day in my opinion. Chris Reeve has some left-handed models too (very expensive non-tactical knives but outstanding quality, tough steels that won't break on a tin can). Emerson also uses a tough reliable steel (but not fancy Boutique knife steel) and the quality is good but not so stellar as on Chris Reeve knives. I prefer Emerson by far as I simply prefer tactical knives. I also love Cold Steel knives. Knives with a flipper can also solve your problem. There are a lot of them nowadays, including the Luzon models. Having used knives with a flipper, it's difficult to chose something else as far as I'm concerned, i.e., my preferences. The only non-flipper knives that get a pass from me are some Emerson knives like the Super Commander. By the way, Emerson knives have thumb-disks spaced far away from the handle. They are equally comfortable to open with the left hand.

Forgot to mention. The Cold Steel Recon 1 folders have reversible thumb studs. Just unscrew the thumb stud and place it for the left-hand opening. Problem solved but... The Recon 1 models are tactical knives and not everyone wants to carry around something like that. However they have a wide range to choose from.

i have a knockoff coldsteel ti-lite. great knife. then i got an actual cold steel ti-lite. my new edc. the knockoff is absolute trash by comparison. great company. the owner seems like the nicest company owner ive ever seen. i got my first cold steel knife (voyager vascero XL). after getting it, i immediately got the tanto, and the ti-lite and a few others. when i showed the vascero to my dad, he stuck it in his pocket. claimed it as his and tossed me a credit card to buy myself a new one. theyre that good. hands down favorite knife company.

I have to send back the one I just received. Too much metal for the liner lock to engage. So now I get to see how good customer service is.
