Hi Tabby! I have this exact bag! And the glazing on my strap was also denting and melting. Mine is not quite 5 years old so I wasn't sure what LV would do for me but I took it in anyway. The SA was so sweet and asked if I had any problems with the purse or just the strap. At that moment I thought it was just the strap... Turns out my handles are cracking too! 😳😥 So she said she's going to see if they'll send me a new strap but she's 85% sure they are going to deem my whole purse as defective and if that's the case I can exchange it for a whole new purse of the same value. I was glad they would replace the purse but I'm sad that I won't be able to get the exact purse. Thank you for doing this video as it's the only I've watched (so far) about this purse being defective.

Jodi Smith oh girl, we are having the same issue. I love this bag so much.. I hesitate to go back and exchange it for another bag. It has crossed my mind. What ended up happening with yours?

@@TabbyViolet So they were able to order me another strap and I finally picked it up today! 🤗 While there, I asked about the cracking on my handles then...thinking since it wasn't an issue to get another strap, they can fix the handles. The same sweet SA, this time told me... Oh that's a wear and tear issue, so they can reglaze it but it will cost you. I was thinking WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!?! You just replaced the strap for free because of craftsmanship but now the cracking on my handles is wear and tear? Stop🤚. I said how? It's the same purse? Shouldn't it be the same issues as the straps? She said because it's cracks and not "melting" and it's almost 5 years old, it's wear and tear. I said, so it's the quality of Louis Vuitton to sell a bag that is almost $3000 that will crack in less than 5 years of use... And NOT everyday use mind you, as I have other purses, and due to the glazing issue on the strap, I hadn't used the purse in over a year! So then all of a sudden, customer service changed... And she became almost dismissive of me. I said well if this is the quality LV stands by, I doubt I'll ever buy another leather product or any product from LV again. So she went "off" again to "check on things"... Left me there...helped another customer (while still "helping" me)... then came back and said... Well I can send it off and see what they say. I said... Do you see this? And pointed to the cracks AND DENTING on the handles and said... What is this? And she said... Cracks and dents. I said yes, there are dents as well. So she then she softened up a bit and said... I'll send it in... And after their inspection they'll know if it's in fact a wear and tear issue (which means I'll have to pay for the reglazing) or craftsmanship issue. If the latter they will either fix it for free (which is what I am hoping they will do) or deem the whole purse defective and I can pick out another purse of the same value. To top it all off, I had to take my 6 key ring holder in AGAIN. The first time, it was not even 6 months old and the glazing was popping off the canvas.... They gave me no problems and fixed it. I got it back and not even 3-4 months later, it's doing the SAME THING AGAIN! This time she said it's my fault because I shouldn't have a key fob in it! I said I didn't have my key fob in it the first time it popped off the canvas and I've never heard you can't put a key fob into a 6 ring KEY holder! What the...?!?! She did take it for another free re-reglazing. 😳 Sorry for the rant...I was a bit put off. 😪

I bought my empreinte speedy 25 in 2013 and just realized it has glazing issues. Check your strap and handle, i brought it to LV and they gave me about $3000 in credit to get another bag. They give you the current value of the bag.

@@BiNkY2BoNkA3RoX I still used an organizer and it went soft over the years. Unfortunately, I had to return this bag a couple months ago as this year 2014 model had glazing issues. So I ended up exchanging it for a empriente leather bum bag! Excited to see it soften up too 🥰 Enjoy yours!

LV gave me a replacement strap as well, free of cost. 😊 I didn’t mention your experience; just told the sales associate about the condition of my bag strap. She filed a repair request right away. Within 2 weeks, they gave me a replacement strap. She even offered to courier it to me since I lived a bit far. Very happy with their service. And thanks again for sharing!

Tabby Violet I think I don’t reach for the Speedy too much (other than travel) because it just gets so heavy with everything I put in it. It’s from way back in 2008 before there was the Speedy B option. I love shoulder bag options.

Great great review! I just purchased a 2013 empreinte 25 speedy and from the pics, the embossing is somewhat deep which is what I want. I hope in person I am satisfied with the embossing. Do you still have yours, and over time will the embossing become less apparent? Mine doesn't come with the strap unfortunately. The color looks burgundy however I do not know the official name. I hope my gkazing on my handles look ok. I bought from TRR

Hi Andi!!! I actually no longer have this bag anymore. The trimming started melting very bad on me, So I exchanged it with a bum bag. But I do know a company called Organize my Bag that has organizers for speedys :) Hope that helps!

AWWW thank you!!! I condition it with cadillac leather conditioner, maybe once or twice a year! I'm not sure that's the way to go! But I rotate my bags quite frequently too

What leather conditioner did you use, you mentioned you conditioned it twice. I just purchased one pre-loved and I hope mine looks a fraction as good as yours. Your bag is in amazing condition and the embossing looks like you just purchased it yesterday!!!

Gail Jackson Hi Gail! It is heavier than the canvas, but I wouldn’t say by too much. I do have a full video comparing the two. I have been in the rain and snow a couple times, but not for long and I just wiped the bag. However, I wouldn’t recommend it and would still be careful. It def isn’t like vachetta where it gets water marks. 🤗
