이번 영상에서는 [무엇을 하는 방법과 수단]에 대해서 설명할 때 사용하게 되는 기본적인 표현 몇 가지로 문맥을 만들어 영어로 말을 하는 연습을 해봅니다.

기존처럼 한국어 문장으로부터 정확한 뉘앙스를 뽑아내서 영작을 하고 필요한 설명을 구체적으로 한 다음에 한국어-영어 순으로 말하기, 영어만 말하기. 이런식으로 하는 게 공부되는 느낌이 가장 좋았던 것 같아요.

These days you can learn anyting you want through a variety of ways. -TVs, Instagram, KZbin, Blogs, etc 4.담배나 술, 인터넷 중독 같은 중독현상을 끊을때 자신의 의지에만 의존하면 안돼요. When you want to quit your addcition like smoking, drinking, or internet addiction, you shouldn't rely on just your will power. 5.좋은 습관은 책으로만 만들 수는 없어요. 꾸준히 체크하고 연습해서 루틴으로 만들어야 해요. =You can't get a good habit with only books. You have to routinize it by constantlyl checking it and practicing. 6. 요리를 책으로만 배울 수는 없어요. 여러 레시피들을 통해서 꾸준히 연습을 하고 본인의 레시피를 만들어 내는게 중요해요. =You can't learn cooking with only books. It's important to make foods in practice through lots of recipes and keep practicing it and devise your own recipe.

You can't learn how to swim with only watching videos. You have to familiarize yourself with water by going swimming pool often. And it's also important to have fun in the water through a variety of ways. And no matter what anybody says, what you see is quite different from what you actually do, so you shouldn't rely on just watching videos.

You can’t be a good chef watching just TV shows like ‘냉장고를 부탁해’. 냉부해 같은 TV프로만 본다고 좋은 요리사가 될 수는 없어. You have to sometimes make your own creative recipe not only by continuously thinking about new idea, but also by practicing conventional one. 때로는 기존 레서피를 연습하고 새로운 레서피에 대한 아이디어도 생각해보면서 자신만의 레서피를 만들어야해요. And no matter what anybody says, there’s no single prefect taste for everyone. 그리고 누가 뭐라든 간에, 모든 사람을 만족시키는 단 하나의 완벽한 맛은 없어요. So, you shouldn’t rely on just a few kinds of recipes. 1) grow가 ‘돈을 불리다’는 의미로도 사용할 수 있는 단어인가요? Sometimes "grow" and "increase" can be used interchangeably. But depending on the situation, usually one is more appropriate than the other. Here are some examples (but sorry I really can't explain when to use which). GROW: grow your savings account, grow your investment portfolio, grow your economy, grow your business INCREASE: increase your stamina, increase your earnings, increase your vocabulary 2) stay on~ 은 어떤 뉘앙스인지도 궁금해요. ‘흐름을 읽는다’는 말을 하고 싶었거든요. "stay on top of things" is a very common and useful phrase. From cambridge dictionary: on top of something in control of a situation and aware of changes: The stock market has been unpredictable, and you really have to stay on top of things. ​ On top of is also used to mean in addition to, esp. something unpleasant: We missed the bus, and on top of that it started raining.

You should not lose weight with only diet. You can become healthier by constantly doing exercise and having a balanced diet. And it's also necessary to gain muscles through a variety of exercises. No matter what anybody says, there's no perfect way to lose fat dramatically in a short period of time. So you shouldn't rely on just having fewer calories. 식이요법으로만 살을 빼려고하면 안됩니다. 꾸준히 운동하고 균형잡힌 식단을 섭취함으로써 더 건강해질 수있습니다. 또한 다양한 운동을 통해서 근육을 만드는것도 필요합니다. 누가 뭐라하든, 단기간에 극적으로 살을 빼는 완벽한 방법은 없습니다. 따라서 단지 적은 칼로리를 섭취하는데만 의존하면 안됩니다. (나름 고심해서 작문했는데 맞는지 모르겠네요.. )

선생님 영상 감사합니다. 한 가지 궁금한 점은 첫 번째 문장에는 by 없이 using only books이고 두 번째 문장에는 by constantly using it and practicing인 이유는 첫 번째는 오직 명사인 '책'으로만 이기 때문이고 두 번째는 사용'하고' 연습을 '해서'와 같이 액션에 더 중점을 두기 때문인가요? 일단 그렇게 이해하고 저도 예문을 만들어봤습니다 (: 약간 과격한 예문이에요 하하. 제 진짜 생각과는 무관합니다😂 You can't receive the best grade using only text books. You have to be able to solve advanced questions by using private tutoring or academies. It's also important to take practice tests through a variety of ways- online lectures, tutoring, and group studies. No matter what anybody says, there's no single one who has earned the best grade without using what I've told you. by using 과 그냥 using 을 언제 구분해서 써야 할지 감이 안 와요. You can't.. using only books / You have to.. by using it... 만약에 목적어가 두 문장 모두 책이라면.. 단순한 어감 차이가 되려나요??

선생님 강의 잘 듣고 있어요. 예전강의라 댓글을 보실진 모르겠지만 이번편 보다가 질문 남겨요.. 제가 영어 스피킹시험(아이엘츠)을 볼때 이런 질문들이 많거든요. 질문이 예를들면 How people learn new languages? (그냥 예시) 근데 제가 대답을 할때 자꾸 people을 말하다 보니 너무 많이 말하는거 같고 어색해서요.. 이번편 선생님 처럼 "you"라고 하면 훨씬 더 간결하고 자연스러울거 같은데 말이죱. 일반적인 질문에도 자연스럽게 "you"로 말해도 되는지 궁금합니다.. 한국말로는 당신 이라고 하면서 말하는게 진짜 어색해서요..강의를 보다보니 한국어랑 영어는 진짜 다르네요ㅠㅠ

I've been trying to train myself how to speak in English by constantly copying you through your video lectures , which I can testify is the most efficient way that I've ever experiened so far. But whenever I practice to transfer the learned sentenses from Korean to English myself, it is hard not to be able to call to mind a starting word leading to the complete sentence.

You can't be good parents with only money. You have to act by constantly expressing your love to your children and communicating with them. And it's also import to understand them through a variety of ways. So you shouldn't rely on saticifying their needs. 돈으로만 좋은 부모가 될수 없다. 아이들에게 끊임없이 너의 사랑을 표현하고 의사소통을 해서 행동해야한다. 또한 다양한 방법으로 그들을 이해하는것도 중요하다. 그래서 아이들의 필요에만 충족시키는것으로만 의존하면 안된다.

familiarize 는,,, 여러 예문들 보니 '익숙해질 대상'을 바로 목적어로 취하지 않고 전치사 with와 함께 쓰던데.. 선생님 강의하신 것처럼 familiarize it 이라고 써도 되는건지.. 선생님이 쓰신 것과 같은 활용법은 찾기 힘들어서요. ex) Prepare basic material to familiarize users with the JAD. ex2) You’ll need time to familiarize yourself with our procedures. ex3) I didn't get the chance to familiarize myself with that song yet...

쌤 궁금한게 있는데요! 왜 You 라고 주어를 쓰신건가요? We 가 아니고요? 왜냐면 YOU라고 하면 약간 "너는 그럴 수 없어" 라는 느낌이 들어서 말하려는 의도와는 좀 다르게 상대방을 함부로 판단(?) 한다는 느낌이 드는데.. 그런게 아닌가요? 차라리 I think it's pretty hard to learn a foreign language with only books. 이런식으로 you를 안쓰면 안되나요??
