LW 5.5+ feet - 2024

I ran the LW around this level back in 2001 and got trounced. I had done it once before at "normal" flows a few years earlier and found it pretty doable. I was back in Portland, it rained all day and night, and I did not anticipate the difficulty of the higher flows. In addition, I was off the couch because I had started a new job. So I jumped in there out of shape and not mentally prepared. Was definitely redlining and finally got pinched off in a ledgy hole (maybe the one at about 5:17) above a log jam. I was with some locals and they had to pull my a$$ out. Not my best moment.

Thanks, Evan. I recall in the 90's when Jay Kincaid ran it at 4+. We were impressed. I'm wondering how high the Crooked got this year and if anyone filmed it? It's a rarely- running classic, and with a motor boat shuttle the run all the way to the Lake is a good and beautiful day.
