I made my own bow holder for my old Alpha 2 stand. Took a steel bracket, beat it into a u shape then ran a bolt through the platform side. Works great but heavy and doesn't swivel.

The bolt that fits through the hole does not fit through the hole of the bow holder. I am having an extremely hard time trying to get the bolt through the hole. I am trying WD40 on the bolt while screwing it in with a nut driver and also tried tapping it in with a hammer. And it still won't go through. For the money I paid for this, there's no reason why it should be this hard to slide this bolt through the hole on the bow holder. Any advice on what I should do?

If it was me id ream it out a little with a 1/4 drill bit.

@@MichiganGreatOutdoors Oh I'm sorry never mind. I'm an idiot. I wasn't doing it right. I was trying to get the bolt through the hole on the holder but according to the installation instructions video by lwcg, Cody is saying to put the bolt through the hole ON THE STAND first. And then slide the bow holder on with the 2 big washers on the bolt and screw the nut on the outside. 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦. Lol. Again. It's my fault I was doing it wrong. But if you watch that video on how he describes on how to install it, the camera man is too far out and you can't quite see what he's doing.

My bow had the same “tipping backwards” problem, called them and they sent out spacers immediately.

I have been using the Thirdhand bow holder but thought the fold a way would be nice but after watching this video I will be buying another Thirdhand.

If you like your bow hanging above like the screw in style you could check out the bow hanger from outright hunting products called the morph pro. A little pricey but it has options for screw in or public land legal mounting

Im a right handed shooter. I usually mount a bow holder on the right side of the platform when i sit in it so the quiver is sticking out. Can you mount that on the right side of the stand based on the way its made?

I mount the third hand bow holder on the seat of my .5 that way I can hold onto the grip of the bow while sitting. Makes it way faster to get ready for a shot.

Did you determine this was junk yet? Have a third hand and it's pretty good just a little heavy. Your opinion probably not worth getting one of these to drop weight?

I think its a pretty nice product. I used mine in early season and then went back to a tree hanger. When your stand flexes your bow will move and I had a scare one time. They just came out wit an updated version to help with some of the more parallel limb bows.

I just hang the bow on a screw in dealie. Low tech. That's a slick little gizmo though

I see a lot of limb splinters coming from those sharp aluminum edges, needs way more padding than what it comes with imo.

After guys started getting these and I saw how Mathews and Hoyts sat in there I called and canceled my order. The exposed metal to scratch limbs and guys needing more spacers… there is no way they tested these with anything other than the Lobo. I’m not to impressed.

Thats a fantastic point and I agree. I wished I had thought of that before I made my video. My bow is 100% maxed out on the aluminum bars. I need 1 or 2 more spacers to get it to work properly. Im hunting in KY right now and lost an o ring the first morning walk in. Ended up using a screw in cause im on private.

You can reverse it for left handed use!

@@MichiganGreatOutdoors I use high point archery bow holder, it can’t fold in but it fits a Mathews wide limb bow easily and I can have my bow in my climber going up the tree and it stays locked in nicely check them out half the price of lwcg
