I think that you are one special compassionate, open minded lady Alicia. Thank you for caring for those that would've lived more of the foster child situation. I myself was one. That never leaves, as there's such abandonment issues there. I'd of liked to be adopted, but I was already a teen. Let's just say, I'm 65 & my history has totally colored my life, not in a good way. It was scandalous in the 60's to come from a "broken home".

All I have to say is your such a beautiful person! I grew up in foster care, many homes, different states, on and off with my biological mother. I was adopted at 11 and it was an open adoption. I believe it was a good thing for me. I understood more of why things were the way they were. But my foster parents or adoptive parents are nothing like you. I was more just like a paycheck. You let them show their individuality and try to make everyone happy and comfortable. Always stay so wonderful and levelheaded❤️

Wow, I absolutely agree you 100% on the open adoption. Our son has never got to meet or talk with his Bio mom. He will bring it up every once in awhile to look for her but then dismisses it quickly. I’m not real sure he can comprehend that I didn’t give birth to him, and he was adopted. He is autistic, but mostly a low social skill. It’s really sad cause I think it would fill that void he has also. I think you folks are so awesome! May God Bless y’all richly ❤️

Use SM! My friend also found her daughter who taken from her by her babydaddy. She had lived not too far the whole time. It took 10 yrs of heartbreak on both their parts but at 16yo her daughter & she were reunited. Her daughter told her dad to go fly a kite within a few mos and moved in with mom. He tried to get her to hate her mom but as soon as she could hear truth, she knew better.

WOW You are absolutely amazing. I wanna cry. My stepmom as a kid was too jealous of my bio/later I call her my real mom on acct of how toxic the stepmom was. So most adopted families also lack the confidence and heart to even consider what you did. They would have used the excuse of it was closed...oops hands tied. Adoptive families change names then pretend like there was nothing but bad before them...So glad you are sharing your stories, in hopes more ppl could be like you and your family's beyond kindness.🐢🐢🐢Cara

I love how ur not trying to fulfill ur needs when u started helping kids but meeting *their* needs. So OF COURSE finding his mom was a nonnegotiable. I would have scoped it all out first as u did but she seemed not a danger and talking etc first for awhile was excellent. Closed adoption has baffled me since a child. Unless the rare rare case of extremes, closed just isn’t in child’s best interest. Having the bio parents in their lives (except for those rare cases) is just part of HELPING kids vs “building a family for infertile couples”. One is them centered, one is child centered. I have strong feelings yes Ur doing such a service to these kids, Alecia 🙂

I gave a beautiful child up for adoption when I was seventeen. I actually signed her over to my foster parents. I was 16 by 4 days when I had her. Lord Jesus knows how much I loved her but, I had another child by a different man when I turned 17. I knew he would never accept her and would most likely harm her. I wanted a closed adoption but I regret that. I regret that I didn’t leave the second man and live as a single mother. Life choices are so hard when you are too young. I am so happy to watch you and Jesus is watching too.
@leilarobles13112 жыл бұрын
Wait, not judging just confused. You had her first then met a man and had a kid with him and then put your first child up for adoption because the dad of the second one didnt want her? I'm not judging just interested
@shell71422 жыл бұрын
@@leilarobles1311 I believe that’s what she said…. Sad story, I feel for her as she understands now. This is why people need to learn from others past mistakes: children should not be having sex. Wait until marriage. We are suppose to learn from history, but our sinful ways keep us from us learning and making better choices. The Bible shows how many times the children of Israel kept making their same mistakes rather then learning. This is also another reason why we as parents NEED to teach our children on morals and about God. Every generation is getting worse and farther apart because if parents aren’t teaching their children then who is? No one. 😕

I am a new subscriber and so am going back to the beginning. I already thought you were the best, and this confirms it. While I am sure it would be easier for you to have closed adoptions, you ALWAYS do what is the best for the children. Haters and critics just have holes in their lives. I watch you every day. I couldn’t have children and watch you daily to fill the void in my life. Thank you.

Wow, thank you for sharing your thoughts on this very sensitive subject. Our family had given up my sisters son at birth (she was only 17) and it has always left a giant whole in our hearts and my sister suffered daily because of this. It was a closed adoption at first and after 27 years she was able to find and reunite with him and his adoptive family. We love them all and our life is now complete and whole again.

I just discovered your Channel about a week ago I do not have Instagram or Facebook KZbin is my only social media. I am a 60 year old female who never could have kids. I am a retired registered nurse, so I got to do a lot of my loving and care taking that way. I know it's not the same I'm also a firm mommy LOL that should say as in a doggy mom. and they were $1 found in a dumpster then I rescued three pitbulls and paid all the money to get them healthy and got people to adopt them. I enjoy watching you and your children so much you and your kids and your husband are an inspiration and a blessing. whenever I feel lazy I just watch one of your videos and I get motivated haha I'm glad I finally found out why you weren't using it washer and dryer and home I didn't know your septic was down. I was thinking how can this family of 12 go to the darn laundromat haha. I live in Savannah Georgia I hope your kids get to go to the beach at some point if they haven't been. God bless you Mom you guys are in my prayers every night and I know so many wonderful things are going to continue coming your way. you are one-of-a-kind❤❤❤

My niece an nephew got adopted a couple of years ago. And my daughter and niece is the same age and was so close before they got adopted. I’ve reached out so many times to just meet at the park, anything to see my niece and nephew. But unfortunately they will not respond. I respect you so much for letting your children,if they want, to stay in touch with their biological family. Certain circumstances I can understand the adopted family not wanting kids to be in touch with bio family members.

I had a family member, who asked me to take his girlfriends baby that we thought he was the Dad, but found out he was not the Dad. It's a long story but, at age 2 we adopted him, he is now 7 and he began saying that we were not his parents that he thought we found him in the forest. But I think it is not fair to keep him from her and I was thinking of reaching out to her and see if she would want to be apart of his life. It is hard for me because I have had him since birth, and my heart breaks to think of losing him. But I just feel he needs to meet her and see how it would go. Thank you for sharing your story. Praying for you all. Blessings above and beyond.

I my self can’t have children and have been looking into fostering and adopting what hindered me from doing so is that I know that fostering means I have to let go it hard to open your heart then having that little one leave. I have learned a lot and feel much better to start fostering and adopting I feel it a calling for me.🌻🌻🌻abundant blessings to you all. Much love for the whole family.

As someone who was given up after I was born overseas- I think adoptions should be open. I have MS and since I don’t know my bio family- I have no idea of any medical family issues. Also- being adopted I don’t know when my true birthday is only when I was found on the police station steps. It’s like I don’t have a true identity because everything about me is so unknown. Anyone actually reading this who wants to adopt- please at least if possible let the kids know their birth family. I have tried the 23nme, AncestryDNA but have never been able to find anything other than 3rd and 4th cousins which is not really helpful.
