I remember when I was a child and my grandmother used to listen to this song while skinning rabbits. Grandma made a great rabbit stew (and she also had great taste in music!).

I love Lycia, I've been listening to them for almost 20 years. I think one of my favourite songs is 'Broken Days', but it is really hard to choose between their many beautiful songs. Thank you for your comment!

@@matt_one me too, 20 years and change. A friend back then told me about them, as he knew I liked Sisters of Mercy, Fields of the Nephilim, etc. I come form a time where you knew what you knew and the rest was word of mouth between similar souls. I also love ethereal female vocals, Thrive (a Canadian industrial goth band, I can't find anywhere), The cranes, Faith and the muse, Dead can dance (live they are fantastically mesmerizing)... You are making me get lost back in time with your amazing creations, when I thought original masterpieces couldn't get any better... 🖤

I also didn't have much knowledge at the time, and many things I discovered belatedly thanks to the Internet. For example, I discovered 19 years after its release the masterpiece "Within the Realm of a Dying Sun" by Dead Can Dance, as well as the rest of their discography. During the same period, I tirelessly searched for music that could give me the same emotions, and Lycia's definitely does that. I also really loved Qntal's electronic medieval music, especially from the third album onwards. I thank you for stopping by my channel and for your appreciation!

@@matt_one I was lucky enough to discover DCD in the late 80s but I never heard of Qntal. I'm listening to them now, very interesting sound. I love unexpected well made mixed styles. Thank you 🖤 Germany produced great goth music in the late 80s early 90s, a friend gifted me the collection "Touched by the hand of Goth" vol. 1 (1995) where I discovered some gems.

Thank you, I really appreciate that you enjoyed this experiment! Your description of it goes beyond what I intended to convey, which is a slight sense of melancholy, a kind of "lounge" version of the fast and violent despair of the original "One Hundred Years". Lycia's atmospheres are always powerful and evocative. In my opinion, the best US darkwave band.

@@matt_one I can see where the previous commenter is coming from. I think integrating Lycia's sound gives One Hundred Years a sense of "vastness," thus the impression of a civilization imploding. Beautiful work in any case. I just discovered you tonight and have been enjoying exploring your channel. You've done some of the most seamless blends of songs that I've heard on YT. @@grancha_man Muchas gracias de nuevo por tu comentario! Dejamos la perfección a los artistas originales, ya que ellos crearon estas fantásticas canciones. Aquí no he hecho gran cosa: ..... He bajado el tono de la parte instrumental de Lycia, que también se ha ralentizado. Esto me gusta bastante. El problema es la voz de Robert Smith, que es mucho más lenta que en el original. En mi opinión sufre mucho desde el punto de vista de la calidad.....

@@grancha_man No eres pesado, absolutamente! Me gusta mucho hablar de musica y de mìs grupos favoritos. Lycia es uno de los que amo màs, junto con The Cure y Dead Can Dance. De Lycia me gusta que sean dos cantantes, Mike VanPortfleet y Tara VanFlower. Ambos tienen muy buena voz y cada uno tiene su propia peculiaridad. Tara VanFlower dejò dos comentarios en los dos video de Lycia que subì!🤩

The intention was, with such a slow tempo, to make it more desperate. The effect achieved is more that of a drunk singing. There is a lot of despair in this as well.....

Very good as always, but you could hear when the Robert Smith came in, there was an aberrant noise. Make and X track-cross in perfect sync. I am no pro. But I do know and work with Adobe Audition, I know it very well. I know this is not what you use. It is still a great composition, so do not take my comment negatively, thank you for lettings me hear some of your great music videos. The newer ones are almost perfect.

I am also not a professional and I think you can easily tell by listening to my stuff, made just for fun. Perfection is not within my reach😁 The main problem is that there is too much difference between the tempo of the two songs, plus Lycia's one I slowed it down further. The isolation of Robert Smith's voice did not give a very clean result, and having it slowed down so much made it worse. I definitely don't think this is one of the best things you can find on my channel. However, one good thing is that the singer of Lycia liked it (you can see her pinned comment). I thank you for listening and your appreciation. No problem for your criticism....
