When you memorize something it's temporary, you're not actually learning it. By studying you associate what you read to something you already know and that's what makes you smarter and you'll hardly forget it.

Kaah Ubial do you think reading it several time would help? It's kinda difficult to retain three to four chapters of 50-80pgs each

The key is to study by the methods you learn more (listening, writing, reading, speaking), but if you think that won't help you can memorize, I'm not saying it's wrong, but you'll do it just to pass a test, there's a great technique called the mind palace, you should look it up

okay, so I am in year 8 and in a couple of years time, I'll be sitting my GCSE exams and to be honest, I don't know how I am gonna be able to just naturally sit down and study for so long. I'm currently in the middle of my gcses, honestly the best way to study is in parts, even 30-40 study sections and then a break. Otherwise it can overwhelm you. That's what my teachers say usually and most of my friends do this. Good luck! You have ages to develop it :)

Tazmin Harper I'm in second year college and what I did to get A*s was I got a revision book in year 7 and did 10 mins everyday revision and by the time I got to year 11 I knew everything so well that I didn't need to do much. I managed to get almost all A*s, I wouldn't recommend this but I would rather do 10 mins a day then try and panicking and do like 5 hours a day.
