We went over a quick behavioral question and a technical product metrics question about Lyft marketplace: measuring the demand threshold and figuring out top-line metrics.

The guy did a good job. But I feel like Jay wants to hear certain thresholds and more specific metrics but can't hear it. Is there any comment or feedback from Jay for this mock interview?

This seems like only a clip of the interview. Where can I watch the whole interview? Thanks.

My top line 3 metrics to check health of marketplace -is the supply/demand ratio maintained i.e rides completed /rides requested to check we are not going overboard or under board -A revenue metric i.e revenue to lyft/rides completed to see revenues are not getting hampered by any chance - A ML model metric as matching rides is the backbone for lyft i.e diff (actual time to pick- predicted ETA)/rides completed . If this metric ends up acting weird you need to get it checked This all should have curated thresholds based on historical data and we should see them as granular as possible mostly on day to day basis.

3:49 the metrics he names are far more related to supply than demand, IMO

Gross Bookings: This measures the total amount of money spent by customers on the platform. It can help track the growth and size of the marketplace, and identify trends and patterns in consumer behavior. Active Users: This metric tracks the number of unique users who use the platform in a given period of time. It can help track engagement, customer retention, and the overall popularity of the marketplace. Gross Margin: This measures the profit the company makes from its operations, after deducting the cost of goods sold. For a company like Lyft, this would include the cost of driver compensation, vehicle maintenance, and other operating expenses. Gross margin can give an indication of the efficiency of the marketplace's operations and the level of profitability.
