Is All This Security Worth the Costs? No. Is all this public building security necessary? Is it worth the hundreds of billions of tax dollars our public servants spend of our money on their protection? In a single word, No. Thirty years ago, we never saw rent-a-cops, cops or deputies at a public building. Why do we now? Need I point out, airplanes didn’t fly into city hall, courthouses, or police buildings. How did this happen? Who started this expensive practice of guarding our public servants from the citizens that pay their salaries, and are forced to pay the additional taxes to maintain the security? And now it has gotten worse. Some buildings the public is not even allowed to enter, - that we pay for. If it has anything to do with what happened in Sep 2001, 20+ years ago, how much more security is “our government” going to add in the next 20 years - that we pay for? Someone is going to try to say, yes, if it saves even one life. Hey how about we get the cops to stop murdering 3+ people every day across America. That’s the life that we can say was saved. Cops murder more than 1,000 citizens across the country every year since 2013. Are they doing anything about that? Is it worth all this extra manpower, loss of time and money/ it? In a single word, No. Someone, anyone, prove to me, show me the numbers, the odds of an event that all this security prevents happening. Because I say it’s not worth the cost. Someone will say, ‘well, if it saves one life, it’s worth the billions. I say, well bridle or better, take away the guns from the police that are murdering more than 1,000 citizens a year, to save lives. Balance that against the one life you propose the costs is worth it. When I take over, I am putting an end to the isolation the government has imposed and restricted citizens access to publicly accessible buildings. I say we should pass new budgets that remove the security contractors and send them back to Subway and stocking grocery store shelves versus letting them continue to carry guns at the DMV. No one is going to steal a plate at the DMV. I say this because, after all, most of the time these armed doormen don’t even read the rules or law regarding citizens entering the buildings. Let’s put a stop to this waste of taxpayer dollars and use it for the homeless.

Love how the cops warn each other when auditors are around. That means they KNOW they're being held accountable. 🇺🇲

so the next time the police pull me over I can tell them "my person who deals with the police isn't with me, they'll have to make an appointment"?

"I am a taxpayer, therefore I have the right to x y z".... is an argument that must DISAPPEAR from your speech. Paying taxes gives you no right whatsoever. All you need is TO BE A PERSON. Constitution does not say "We the Taxpayers".

What a vile way to great visitors. Blocking the entrance, then security does the receptionist job. It's very rude and disrespectful. These people have no right to work for the public with rude, unprofessional attitudes. Such a complete waste of resources rather than take 2 mind to show them the meeting room. Heads need to roll. This is shameful from school to kaw enforcment.
