I wanted to make this video to get people to rethink lying leg curls and how they perform them.
To me this is one of my favorite pieces of equipment because the pump is insane and there are so many different ways to use it.
I just highlighted a few but don't be afraid to try something new out and see if it gets a better result, sometimes you just have to look weird for a few sets as you're trying things out but I guarantee you that if you come back a few days later someone will be doing the exercise they saw you create.

Been gyming for 10 years. Tried some of Ryan’s tips, first time I have EVER had that ‘mind muscle’ connection. Ended up in isolated muscle agony, laughing like an idiot. Was so happy. Thanks mate 👍

Keep in mind, the Five stars are based on my needs for this item kzbin.infoUgkxUHHotQRjIQnfuxEeVotlkHVYWH0DXZoS When I first bought the bike I was going to return it immediately. After trying it out for several days/weeks I came to realize it is actually perfect for WHY I bought it.This is not a workout, the resistance is, eh, it makes a bit of noise, not loud, and it isn’t very stable even with the mat. The mat certainly keeps the bike from sliding but nothing keeps the mat from sliding (if that makes any sense, lol). Mine is place on my hard wood floor. Maybe it would be better with a rug underneath??I sit for long hours for work and wanted something to keep my legs moving. This bike does exactly that! For the price it is amazing, it is compact, easy to use, light weight, keeps track of time, calories etc (not sure how accurate it is) but good little product. I am happy with it.

Crazy that I came across this video because I’ve always naturally done these with dorsiflexion and was never even conscious if it. Sometimes i get pain in the back of my left knee while doing it so I thought to try with the toes pointed , had to lower the weight significantly but like I thought it solved the pain issue That I had . I’m going to keep doing them like this from now on and will definitely try these other tips mentioned

I love this channel ill add this for some peoples thought as I am just covering hamstrings in my studies and the bicep femoris is unique with its muscle fibers as it seems designed for quick explosive knee flexion meaning lower reps and higher sets seem to work just fine to...also eccentrics are enormously worthwhile for injuries if u play a sport like rugby soccer football it can save ur hamsting

Watched lots of these vids never tried following this one then I did, So I tried the hamstring machine this week after always doing RDL’s with BB and DB’s. Following Ryan’s advice for hitting each head changing the direction you point your toes. Felt good, nice burn. Next day went for my usual run. Then day 2 happened which was pretty emotional. By day 3 I’d turned religious praying for forgiveness. It’s now day 4 and my long low intensity run day, I’ve been sat looking at my f**kin running trainers for 40mins feeling like I could back pee blood! Wish I’d never seen this video! If you want to hover when taking a sh*t for the next 3 days because you can’t bare half squatting onto porcelain! Listen to Ryan he’s a real c*nt 👍🏼

There's a reason why there's a bend on the bench and why they expect you to rest properly on your stomach while performing knee flexion rather than performing stunts. Read about Bi-Articulate muscle theory. While you're resting on the bench you're allowing all the muscles of the hamstrings to work and perform knee flexion, the moment you raise your torso up all the muscles of the hamstring except the short head of the biceps femoris will be assisting in hip extension rather than knee flexion which is the function on the hamstrings. The reason why the only muscle that works on the knee flexion is Biceps Femoris and no other is that all the other muscles of the hamstrings originate somewhere around the hip joint and insert at the back of the knee which supports at hip extension as well as knee flexion but not both together. Only Biceps Femoris orignates way below the hip joint and inserts at the knee. So when you raise your torso up like this man you're using only one muscle that is the short head , rather than all the other muscles. Let's see him load up that stack and use just one tiny muscle to lift. You may feel a burn or a pump or what not , but you're making the exercise least effective rather than working towards functional efficiency. I'll give him points for the kneeling stunt because there his hips are bent and hence releasing all the hamstring muscles to perform knee flexion , but then yet again there are other machines for that , rather than trying stunts at the gym and running the risk of injury. Id be careful whom I'm taking advice on over the internet. I normally don't comment on someone else's posts. But the thumb nail got my attention and I HAD to spoil the party. Oh Yes , that is the reason why you have seen the evolution of the hamstring machine from a flat bench during the golden era to a slight bend as what is there is this video to the seated hamstring curls which works the best as the hips are completely flexed while seated hence releasing all the hamstring muscles to perform knee flexion. You even wonder why your hips raise up while you do lying hamstring curls ? That's because the Biceps Femoirs can't take the load alone while bending the knee , which forces the hips to bend and release all the hamstring muscles to come to the rescue. But then you have stupid personal trainers every now and then who would press your hips down and state bad form rather than encouraging you to lift your hips or atleast place a foam roller at the hip joint so it bends.
