About Faking Experience: There were sometimes, where all companies recruited only experienced resources. After 15 to 18 years of education, if someone did not get a job for 3 years. The person does not have any other alternative than faking the experience. About Faking the technology: Most people in the Java world fake the technologies in their resumes. (I saw one resume with Spring Boot added before it was released) The way suggested by Java Brains may work for some people. not for all. Even I faced difficulties to come out of Jsp/Servlets/Struts to Spring world. Before 6 years, All the projects started to migrate to Spring and there were no calls without Spring and Hibernate. I learned Spring and Hibernate by watching JavaBrains and Other KZbin channels. I practiced well then I was able to change my company successfully. I too agree Faking is not ethical but it may need for survival. End-of-the-day delivery matters.

Asking an entry level guy with 3+ exp is also not ethical.

Totally agree with your stance on Fake experience. One other justification people give is that... They are not able to get into a job as a fresher and it had already been 2or3 years since they were passed out of college. So why not put 3years fake? Unfortunately many companies/consultancies are making business on it too. But no, definitely not a good way to build a career.

I think lying about years of experience is tolerable in some case, but lying about skill is not. Most people lack both, so those fake experience is simply a scam. Company use years to compare skills and that usually not so relevant for small/mid size project. Some people learn faster, put more hours per week on learning, and dont have enough life savings to survive those hiring bs. If you ve been practicing for 2 years I would say putting 1 year experience is acceptable. But again, you need to back it up with more skills or fail miserably. IT skills is not something you can fake

i was in IT for ~7-10 years before switching to dev. i’ve been in dev for ~8 years. i keep my resume one page, so i combine my it career into a small entry with a few highlights. when asked, i tell people that i’ve been in tech for over 15 years, and that i started out in it before switching to dev. most people assume the bulk is dev, especially after we talk tech for a bit. i let them. As mentioned in the video, i never lie, but there is a reflexive prejudice against IT amongst programmers, and many organizations base pay on years of experience rather than demonstrated capabilities. the truth is that my background in IT has made me a far better dev than a career strictly in dev would have. i don’t want a job for which i am not qualified, and i’m not going to lie in an interview, but i still want that interview, and i’m not going to throw away a significant chunk of my career just because some people are too ignorant to respect it.

I've faked my resume one every single job switch. I make sure to study those things in depth so I've never been rejected during the interview. When it comes to working, no matter what the technology, there will never be too high level in depth knowledge required, when it does get required, even the experienced person would be studying before writing any code, so you're both on the same square.

you can put fake expeirence if you have the caliber to handle the challenges in your new job. faking experience is not bad because when freshers are hired from colleges, projects will be alloted randomly(may be not everywhere but it happens lot of times). which is a great injustice/bad side from companies. I learned C,python, Labview during btech and compeleted mine and my friend's final year project too.(he/she is not at all interested in writing code or doing final year project). I used to help them in C language assignments, troubleshooting errors etc.. after getting the placements they were in a tech roles in service based company and i rejected 3 placement offers and tried offcampus as well and got a job in fortune 500 prod based company. but the worst thing is i got landed in L1 support role. after 2 years now, they all made switches with packages upto 100% more than me. and i did a lateral shift in my own company into a product development team and learning springboot/microservices now. there are some of my friends who got stuck in support job in service based companies and they are unable to make a lateral shift due to thier management. what this person should do? keep getting his/her resume rejected in every job trial and feel depressed and rejected? stay with low package, boring job and keep suffering.. when your college friends grow with better tech and high packages? take a technology, learn, practice , fake it and make it. as a fresher we'll not know what kind of job is good or bad. we only see for a first job to start with. at the time of placement you cannot reject a job and look for something exactly you want because of parents etc reasons.. if you ask me. i don't find any bad in faking my experience if you badly want a switch and have the fire to learn and perform. if the company doesn't allocate a project matching your skill set or interest. it is better to fake exp and get a good job and cover the techical/pay gap.

Bro you got amazing content. So many high quality videos! However all this is quite confusing: some of them I find on your webpage, other on youtube channel. They are paid separately, hard to say what is their order. Do you perhaps have some catalogue of all your courses? That's definitely needed to take full benefit of your content.

In India there is an issue about not considering the internship experience for me and then MNC hrs say that due to less experience we can't offer you that. So I don't draw a line between us support people lying on the resume it's like a grey area. I had support experience with access to code of my project so I did debug and stuff but wasn't ever mentored and after switch I got a few pointers as a developer and now I'm doing good.. It's all about the work environment and not the resume I believe.

For the resume question , when do you actually put something on your resume. For instance let's say i learned anything but only for a specific tasn or project (in the company work in) and then not used after or rarely after, should you put on your resume or not, for your next job? Thank you for the amazing content btw

2 things that you talked about SAGA microservices pattern and GraphQL doesn't seem to go together isn't so. Saga advises NOT to share database tables with other services. So customer service will have it's local DB and product service will have it's local DB. Services don't cross across to query other tables in SAGA
@brujua7
@brujua7 2 жыл бұрын
GraphQL in microservices requires a middle-end that resolves the query by consulting the different services and/or having a report-not-so-real-time-db that is being notified of the changes of the entities.

With the Type of Job description available on Job portal in general nobody is eligible for Job as per description, and at some point of time we do write skill we are not using as an individual but project does and i think its okay. Until and unless you are not wasting yours and interviewers time and you have skill to proov it. It is okay to lie else you are never going to pass the filters set by Recruitment teams.

What about people with programming skills (self-taught or college) randomly getting support or testing roles as freshers and want to pursue a career in programming/development? Should they not have a shot at it? They have to put in fake work experience or they won't even be getting interview calls for their desired profile.

The first question is funny, I have made an attempt to learn Java 9 but then again I have no use for it. My work solely uses Java 8 so there is no point in me learning Java 8++ for now.

You can not and should not say "lying on your resume is a personal moral choice". The good life you live in the country you are in is a direct consequence of honesty and transparency. When honesty and transparency goes down in a society, the society itself goes down. This is always the case.
